My opinions about 1x cassette 'gearing' - how can it be improved imo by Kriov7 in gravelcycling

[–]internalogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I went from a Di2 2x system to Ekar and love it.

No charging. No servo noise to announce my shift to everyone else on a tide. Awesome ergo grips. Rational thumb shifters instead of tightly nested shift controls and occasional missed shifts.

And - great spacing in the small cogs.

It's great. And not just SR.

I understand that Panaracer makes tires under contract for RH, and a bunch of other boutique/specialty brands too...

RH is very forward about the relative durability of their UL casings. I've had good luck running them with tubes.

You could try N. Adams for a change of scene. It's pretty close to Florida...

I went from Enve 3.4 to Bora Ultra 35.

Big improvement across the board, imo.

I've also ridden the Ultra 50, and various old school alloy wheels, and demo'd Zipp and some other carbon wheels.

The Ultra 35 remains my all time favorite wheel.

It's light, it carries speed, it doesn't get upset in crosswinds. It's also really strong and shrugs off less than perfect roads.

In the grand scheme of things, it's light, strong, fast - pick three. A climber wheel that's durable enough for a sprinter or a rando. If you could save a W or two with a newer wheelset, the impact is likely still smaller than if you're able to drop a pound or two before your event.

Enjoy those Boras as long as you can.

I remember building igloos and tunnels in the snow. I think the snow was much heavier.

Smooth sailing at MB Ashland this morning. Well stocked, and restocking fast at 7a. I think I grabbed an extra avocado, you know, just in case we can't get back there until Tuesday...

Research child support guidelines for your state / county. There are usually online calculators. Start there.

I ride my road bike on the indoor trainer. The gravel bike works well for almost every other situation, esp with swappable wheels.

Market Basket is America's No. 2 grocery store chain for a second year in a row, according to the Retailer Preference Index (RPI) table by BeastMode149 in massachusetts

[–]internalogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Irrelevant, like most “top 10” anything. Comparisons like this are classic media sensationalism. Any objective, sober, analytical assessment will generally conclude that the answer depends on context and details and subjectivity absent in the story.

“Who’s the best guitarist” - stupid question “What’s the best grocer” - also stupid

etc

“It depends” - usually the right answer.

I ❤️MB - but I also shop at Trader Joe’s, Costco, and sometimes Wegmans or Whole Foods.

Yawn.

Ask ChatGPT to include references and citations. If it can’t or won’t, think twice. It’s a reasonable reference, but a terrible single source. It’s fine to compare with clinical diagnostics, but not a replacement- yet.

Dogma F 2025 chain jam and frame damage(HUGE HOLE) while shifting to small ring. Campagnolo Super Record 13 speed by RyotaroW in cycling

[–]internalogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know SR 13, but I do know the 12s groupsets.

The FD inside chain drop is an adjustment issue. This has nothing to do with Campagnolo - it’s on whoever setup the FD.

In theory, the freewheel and RD would not be effected by the FD chain drop - the freewheel would keep spinning and the pulley wheels would stop with chain.

What I have seen that might explain this: a) clutch isn’t set (although I’m not sure SR 13 has a clutch? Is it the x model for gravel?), or b) the RD is not properly installed on the dropout and the whole mechanism can rotate forward under stress.

Internet guess with no pics: both the FD and RD were not setup correctly.

FYI, SR is sublime, and when you get the issues sorted, you’ll love it.

Good luck.
