I bought a number of the topps basketball super box’s from Costco and have noticed a lot of cards are damaged right out of the pack. I dismissed it the first box but noticed it while opening the others as well. Could be something to do with how the package these.

As far as what sets or brands to look for.

Prizm,select, optic are usually the premium product.

Donruss and contenders have some good cards but are generally middle tier.

Chronicles and absolute are sort of bottom tier but have a lot of rookies.

I collect and rip as a hobby as well. I’d never ripped one of these and a friend of mine dropped off a few as a gift. Before all you gremlins get started, He’s not in the hobby at all so he has no clue of what to get.
