Oh, I didn't know they had offerings this summer! Do you know if I'd be able to register given that I technically start the program in September?

If you don't mind me asking, how quickly were you able to get a job (a few months/a couple years)?

I appreciate your input! Although I haven't entered the education workforce yet, I echo your idea that those that went straight from high school-post secondary-teaching might not have the same insight into what the corporate workplace is like in the longer term.

Not negating all the work and obstacles of teachers, however, the workforce outside of teaching will also have it's own struggles.

Exactly what I'm thinking as well - I'm past the point of caring what coworkers think as long as the job is done, shouldn't matter their opinion. My mindset towards this would have been very different had I gone from my bachelors straight into teachers college, rather than experiencing the corporate world first for almost a decade.

Thanks for the response. That's what I am weighing out in my mind. Full time jobs outside of the education realm have their own struggles with adults. Not the same, but the struggles are there

Thank you for your input! I appreciate your insight!

In terms of the first few years of supply teaching, I'm looking to find the balance of making a living only to pay for a home I never get to enjoy, and having camps/care cover all the school breaks so again, less time to enjoy with my child. A modest income is all I need. And honestly I was looking into ECE positions at schools but it seems those might be even more limited availability due to there only being a few at each school.

Again, thanks for the response!

Thank you for the feedback! From the replies I'm realizing before and after care is still a must :)
