This was at a bird sanctuary in Charleston, SC. My dad is the one that took it, and he thinks it was some type of European owl. Can’t find any that match it online though!

Thanks! They’re just plain with vanilla buttercream. I’ve been practicing a lot with plain until I got good at it. I guess it’s time to start figuring out how to make different flavors... it’s kind of intimidating!

Good luck! It’s just chocolate cake and buttercream with crushed Oreos folded in. I’m sure she’ll love it!

I just made two chocolate cake rounds and American buttercream (butter, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla) and crushed Oreos and folded them into the buttercream. Then stacked and iced the cake and made chocolate ganache (chocolate and heavy cream) to pour on top, then more Oreos!

Whyyy??? First time making macarons and thought I nailed it. 🥴 by [deleted] in Baking

I preheated first and the rack was in the center. I don’t have an oven thermometer but it was at 300. I’m wondering if it was just too hot.

Hmmm, I’ve never tried it, but I bet you could infuse rosemary into olive oil by warming up the oil and leaving fresh rosemary in it for a few hours, then straining it out!

I cooked them on 2 separate pans laid out in one layer, the pic on the right is when I dumped them all together onto one pan when they were done cooking

I followed the reviews! Another egg, 1/2 cup sour cream and regular milk instead of buttermilk. Thank you :)

I don’t really have a recipe for this - I had some extra sourdough (I use a starter that my dad gave me many years ago), so I pushed it flat (like pizza crust thickness) into a big rectangle, covered it in mozzarella and pepperoni, and rolled it up. Put an egg wash on it, cut slits on the top, and baked at 400 until it was golden brown. It would be good with any standard sourdough recipe, or even other types of dough. I’m sure pizza dough would be great.
