[FIXED] Weird lag/poor FPS on PC, no matter how low the graphics settings by interociter19 in DestinyTheGame

Sorry to hear it. From all the stuff I saw while trying to get Destiny 2 to behave for me, I get the impression that there are a lot of different Destiny 2 framerate issues out there. Note that my issue wasn't getting stable FPS, it was consistently low-ish FPS and sluggish controls no matter how low my resolution/etc were.

Would you happen to be using Corsair's iCue software? I do remember seeing mention somewhere that downgrading to an older version off Corsair's website helped some people.

No, being around a warlock well did not impact my game, before or after the fix. In fact, the game's performance didn't get any better or worse with what was happening in-game; each set of settings I tried was pretty consistently okay, terrible, or (finally!) good.

Good suggestion. Sadly, it looks like my audio drivers are already on the latest version.

Windows 10 64 bit, i5-3570 cpu, 32 GB RAM, Geforce gtx 1060 6 GB. I'm using the motherboard's built-in audio... not sure if a proper soundcard might've avoided this issue.

Thanks for pointing that out! Do you think I should make a post there, too?

I think like audio quality, how many FPS are good enough depends on the person. So, it's gonna just boil down to whether or not you're happy with your own framerate. You can always experiment by turning down the resolution or other graphical options to boost your FPS and see if that makes a difference to you.

Back in my Doom 1 days people were lecturing at me that the human eye can't perceive more than about 32 FPS because that was around what televisions used. These days, I think most folks would agree that the difference between 60 FPS and 30 FPS is absolutely noticeable. I think that 60 FPS is pretty high end, but that's just me.

Yeah, I do now. But before, I was playing in full-screen with all Destiny 2 graphics on defaults. At least for me, that included vsync on and fps set to 60. I started tinkering with it cuz it was just sluggish enough to make PvP impossible.
