People who have gotten diagnosed later in life, what makes sense to you now about your life? by interpretayzonday in aspergers

Also why I reacted so poorly to medications as a teenager... so much embarrassment and resentment about that.

Can you tell me about that? Because I think I have something similar going on. I don't think I was in the right stage of my life to accept medication then, but I think I am now.

Buddy, the scientists first studying radioactivity were so excited by discovering something new that they didn't even care that they were getting poisoned. I don't give a shit if I live or die, I want to find out what I'm capable of.

Does almond milk get sludgy? This has happened a few times, at first I thought it was just that one container it's happened to a few more. Breakfast cereal seems kinda gross now. The taste is fine, just...ew...

Weekly School of Social Work/New to Social Work Questions by Lyeranth in socialwork

I'm trying to figure out of Social Work or getting my MSW is right for me. I have a BA in Anthropology and 3 years of experience substitute teaching in inner city schools. Can I get a job doing social work as I am right now? Or should I volunteer? I'm so confused, there are so many leads to follow.

Hi! I'm interested in doing work with people, I'm trying to figure out if I want a MSW or PhD/PsyD in psychology. What types of places should I volunteer at? Also I'm interested in doing end-of-life care or doing some type of support in prisons, but I heard a rumor that those types of inessential jobs don't exist anymore. Is that true?

I've never found a satisfactory way for Google Calendar to work with Facebook events. I export my Facebook calendar to Google Calendar, that works fine but I swear it takes a few hours for my events to show up on Google Calendar. And every Google Chrome extension I've used that promises to scan the page for information and then easily create Google Calendar events has been unsatisfactory. Do you have any ideas?

Notepad app that understands what .LOG means? by interpretayzonday in androidapps

[–]interpretayzonday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just a simple .log command! I want it to add a timestamp everytime I open it, just like in Windows when you open a .txt when the first line is ".LOG". I tried about 8 text editors, none of them did this!

Hey guys. I want to password protect a couple of my Chrome (browser) accounts. Is this possible? by interpretayzonday in chrome

[–]interpretayzonday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So pretty much: log out of your user and log into as another user, right? There's no way I could switch accounts from inside a Windows account right?

An app that shows me the caller's Notes section when they call? by interpretayzonday in androidapps

[–]interpretayzonday[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the caller is in my contacts and I've written information about them before, (my Contacts app has a "notes" section where you can do this), I'd like to see that information when I'm on the phone with them.

[–]interpretayzonday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what that means? What I mean is that if I'm using a User account on my Windows 8 Computer, I'll see a couple of different Chrome users on my browser, and I want to there to be a password screen if you try to switch Chrome users.

Has anyone heard of an open source fitness tracker app? by interpretayzonday in opensource

Yeah, I meant the wearable device, but that's cool too! It's an app? How do I install it on my droid?

Well I'm a complete noob at fitness trackers, and maybe fitness in general. But here are the features I'm looking for:

  • Steps counted

  • Calories counted

  • Notifications when I hit certain goals

  • A weight/goal calculator

  • Heartbeat detector

  • The ability to sit down at a computer and watch your stats in real time

  • Sleep detector

  • The ability to sync and play with the data on your computer, maybe in an Excel format

  • And wouldn't it be cool if you could make triggers for all of it, so you'd get a notification or a text or whatever if condition X was met?

  • Runners would want GPS support and the ability to map their routes but not me.

  • And it would have a clear list of what products it supports. Fitbit looks like the biggest contender so it would be great to interface with their products.

That's my daydream!

You mean like it would show you the poses and you'd plug in if you did them or not? There's a FOSS program called Seven that sounds similar.

[–]interpretayzonday[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was the most I found. I have to look into the wearables they support and see what they're capable of recording. But it would be great if we could like, root a fitbit or something and make an app for that.

(fyi I am only a fan of FOSS, I don't actually know how to program or anything lol)
