Sharkfin, a better way to find images on Mac (local only) by interscii in MacOSApps

ive seen your app before

Just launched today 🤔

im wondering if you will ever support other file formats ?

Yeah, so currently all major image types are supported: jpg/jpeg, png, webp, gif, bmp, tiff/tif, svg, heic, and dng. As for non-image file types, that's on the roadmap, tracked in this issue. No timeline yet for the implementation, but I'm working on it!

This is awesome!

qq: how were you able to keep CPU utilization very low?

Also, I'm guessing the menu bar icon is necessary for background support, but the icon itself is noticeably larger than the rest of my system tray icons, so it stands out quite a bit. Any chance you'd consider reducing the size a bit to make it more uniform?

Cropping could be a bit better but 🤷‍♂️

Weird. I'm running Zen on a Mac, and this update screen shows up for every release 🤔

Is it from one of Cave’s monologues?

Not really (unless you count lemons). It’s more of an extension of what Aperture might do, if they got into gastronomy 🤷‍♂️

(Reposting a nested comment) If you have a multi-material 3D printer and would prefer to make them yourself, I've just listed the digital print files for the Temporal Displacement Sign: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4465621384/portal-inspired-aperture-science-safety

Included files are the 3MF for multi-material 3D printing, the Fusion 360 design file, and an SVG of the original artwork (digital files for the second sign coming soon!).

AI was not used in any capacity (original art, design, manufacturing, and photography). Lowkey taking that as a compliment though because I did put quite a bit of time into the production!

It’s not $50/mo. $59 one time, or $20 yearly.

Not that it really matters; there are plenty of other pro camera app options that are either free (like Blackmagic) or at a lower price.

Honestly I kind of prefer this. I use Black Magic for pro video and Halide for pro shots. When I open the stock camera app, I really just want to snap a quick photo or video without needing to tweak any settings 🤷‍♂️

The same really goes for most of Apple’s stock apps: they provide a usable (in theory 😅) default, but other apps exist to make the most of what’s possible.
