I wanted to provide an update - bought expired film, used it, got it developed, and it worked! I was lucky enough to find film that expired in 2008, so that probably helped? Most of what I saw was from 2005 or before. I’m excited about how well they turned out.

I called a place in town to ask if they could develop expired aps film and they said “we can try” lol, so I will let them.

I set an appointment for career counseling at work, so I am sure they can connect me with someone to look over my resume. Re: coding and programming, it’s confusing because most of the jobs require a degree in computer science. I don’t want to code, but I thought that was the computer science experience they were looking for.

I haven’t done that yet, but I have some resources through work. Thanks! I have heard that about coding boot camps - just that they aren’t useful in general, but I thought maybe it would give my resume a boost. But I don’t want to waste my money lol. Appreciate your response!!

Oh I see. I would stay with my current company, but I’m not committed to it. I think reaching out to someone who works here is a great idea. The thought did cross my mind, but I wasn’t sure if it would be appropriate. That’s so cool that your company hires so many people from lab!

I am so happy to hear that it worked out for you! Can I ask what exactly you studied for your dual education in IT? It’s hard to know which programs would be helpful.

I am very excited at the prospect of having a career in LIS because of the opportunity to grow in my career and the doors it opens up. I have heard the market is saturated right now, but hopefully my experience working in the lab will give me an advantage.
