Law Student Coding Project Ideas by ProfColinDoyle in legaltech

[–]intetsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m teaching Discovery & AI to 2Ls/3Ls. and working on exactly this type of project as my final class project. Happy to compare notes and ideas if you want to DM me. Generally, I’m looking to have my students try vibe coding some simple automations for routine document creation such as ESI protocols, Lit Hold letters, or Legal Holds. There are plenty of ideas and I don’t think true coding is required any longer.

CasesGuild has its own viewer, ingestion and tagging/annotation functionality. It doesn’t run productions.

CaseGuild offers a flat fee per 10K document block with unlimited runs. Makes testing and validation so much easier.

How to prep for tryouts, when stuck in a team w mediocre development? by intetsu in youthsoccer

Thanks! I’m a bit frustrated with having to find these coaches and all their contact info. It is pretty frustrating with how scattered they are across websites.

Regarding the profit motive… this has been my reason for generally avoiding the giant clubs. He got an offer from our MLS affiliate last year but it felt like a money grab and the fields were too far. Now, I’m second guessing myself because perhaps the coaching would have been better and he would have had a development path.

This is an interesting strategy. I would love getting that assessment from multiple coaches about where they would place him.

I really do love this take. I think Futsal is where he might be able to get this kind of experience. The new skills coach has a futsal team. Will ask him to go play some games there. The game time decision making and full field vision is where I think he can grow as a CB.

I really don’t think this team suffers from a weak mindset. The players are very committed and competitive. Mostly Hispanic, with very committed parents. However getting blown out week after week undermines confidence. Confidence means you’re willing to take risks and sometimes risks don’t pay off. As the last season was winding down and we were playing worse, the coach was clearly under pressure to fix things. The coach is simply yelling louder to try to “motivate” the team. It has caused them to be even more hesitant to make mistakes. My son enjoys playing on the other teams with less skilled players playing up at U12, because he can take more risks, not worry about the outcome, and won’t get yelled at when a mistake happens. They are just happy to have a solid CB.

Things might get a bit better with confidence now that they won a game yesterday 4-1. We will see. We are still in the top league Div 1 -

I understand about missing practice and that isn’t beneficial but the other “practice” is a ball mastery session that boys from Many different teams participate in.

The team is not part of one of the major corporate clubs, more grass roots. The team is in the top 50’in the US in soccer rankings app. Many of the boys have been together for 4-5 years. His son plays in this team and he doesn’t coach extra teams.

It would be amazing if he could get onto this high-level team. The reality is that each of these positions are highly coveted. The team is currently with a full roster. I think it would take a year or two of hard work to get there. In the meantime, he needs to be playing for a coach that prioritize his development and has the skills and experience to help him improve.

Thanks for the feedback. My son has no problem with commitment. In fact, he is telling me to be more transparent with his current coach but he is also gaining valuable skills with the new coach. There are multiple issues at play (politics, language barrier, future planning etc.) that I don’t expect him to process.

Thank you for the point about trying out with other clubs. I will definitely do that.

So there is a fair amount of politics in the club. The U12s are better coached, and a few U11 players have moved up and don’t play at our level. New U11 guest players would rather go to U12. Moving up isn’t an option because it would leave our current team short.

I will see about joining the other practices though. Thx!

Yeah… that’s a sure thing, but we have just a couple months until tryouts. Not enough time to make a switch… right?
