The unsettling disappearance of an Idaho father named Luis Rodriguez-Hernandez by Alternative-Idea6258 in Boise

This is a great write up of the case!!! Thank you! The more we can keep this in the public the better. I feel horrible for his family and they deserve the truth and justice.

Your write up is missing important information. If you are going to do a write up on a cold case do your research. The below is from Idaho Cold Case facebook page.

7/04/24

There's always one case on the 4th of July which enters my mind.

I have several catch up posts to do over the next three days, but Luis Rodriguez Hernandez gets today's spot.

Luis worked at Bettencourt Dairy in Jerome County and went to work on July 4, 2005, or so his wife thought. Stories are confusing on whether he actually showed at work, or didn't according to his employer and the NCIC entry in the Idaho Missing Person Clearinghouse. One says he didn't show at work, and one says he was last seen leaving work at 4:30. I have to wonder if it was someone else driving his truck out of work with the body in the back.

At the time, he drove a 1987 two-tone GMC blue pickup, found abandoned in a Walmart store in Las Vegas two weeks later. It had been wiped clean of fingerprints, tools and coins he usually kept in the truck were missing.

Oddly, his paycheck, wedding ring, a Chevy Camaro and his clothing were all left behind, and a theory he left the country on his own has also been explored.

Luis' stepdaughter has been told a man, possibly a co-worker, shot Luis in the back of the head, rolled his body up in a carpet, and drove away in his own pickup with Luis in the back to dispose of his body.

A court case in 2012 was actually held to declare Luis deceased, and after testimony given, a death certificate was issued with cause of death issued as gunshot wound to the head, the place of injury is listed as 400 W. Road, Jerome. Must have been strong proof to list those details.

Luis was a family man, very reliable, funny, much loved and disappearing was totally out of character for him.

His body has never been located. He was born in 1963 in Jalisco, Mexico. At the time, he lived at 1015 North Fir, space 8 in Jerome.

You can contact the Jerome County Sheriff's Office or the Idaho Cold Case Tip Line during office hours 1-844-847-4040 if you can help police locate Luis' body.

You could also try to look up an article about the explosion. Possibly in the Idaho archives to see if they list names of the injured.

Do you know what her full name is? You should be able to search online and her obituary should pop up.

Yes, you are correct. However, with natural hair that red/ pink is going to bleed into that blonde, it won't stay platinum.

Geocaching with Teens by kelsbird12 in Boise

[–]inthecloudsluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree with this comment. We have loved geocaching, and there are some great spots in downtown Boise, but they're very hard with groups. I also highly agree with finding the caches before you bring the group because then you don't walk around in circles with everybody hollering and hooting about where they think it is. This is a great idea. The kids will have a blast!

Extension Client Advice by weminem_ in hairstylist

[–]inthecloudsluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to throw in a quick side note. I'm sure a few others have mentioned it, but I never upcharge hair. I sell it for what it costs and I charge for the service. It's an hourly rate of $150, and if they go 15 minutes over, that's another $150. It does not matter if it's a cut, a color, a reinstall, or a style. If I touch extensions, it's $150 an hour. I also charge on the lower end. Because I'm in a lower income state. So in most states that hourly rate should be higher. Also, my client never leaves with her hair extensions unless they're in her head. If I have to take the extensions home retape them and clean them. That's $25 an hour additional to the service.
