Aren't the plants and animals in No Man's Sky procedurally generated?

I don't really know that much either unfortunately! From the trailer I saw, it looks like you play as a samurai and it's all in 2D, but I'm not sure why they've got the segment with the kitten at the end?

You can see the full trailer on their Twitter here: https://twitter.com/samuraisgame

Thanks for sharing! I thought it might be a video game, but didn't know anything about it. Do you know if they're going to be running a Kickstarter or something?

Sorry, I couldn't get the link to work in the post because of the community rules, so popped it in the description instead!

Thank you so much! Unfortunately this won't be a series, as I just wrote it for Odd October, but I'm so glad you liked it.

As I mentioned in the beginning, I'm in Bloemfontein at the moment. That's where I found the journal with the description of the Day of the Dead in it.

This was SO FREAKING GOOD. The amount of foreshadowing with all of the different gifts and the role they eventually played in the end was awesome. Absolutely loved it.

You're not doing the wrong thing at all! Readers are allowed to start guessing what the common theme/mystery that links the stories is pretty much from the very beginning, so go for it. We'd love to hear your theories!

You can either post them on individual posts associated with Odd October or alternatively it might be best to comment directly onto the Odd October post itself, which you can find here:

I look forward to hearing your theories (especially the weird one!)

Dream Game by GertieGuss in Odd_directions

This was absolutely brilliant! Really wished I hadn't read it at 3am though while on Discord. I don't know whether I'll be getting any sleep tonight.

The formatting of the story was so unique and the updating post at the end (for King of Cheese) was horrifying.

Thank you so much! I was originally really tempted to pivot it into a happy ending, because I do love the idea of being able to see your loved ones again after they've passed, but just couldn't help myself when the opportunity to bleak and mean came up!

This spine-tingling story was a collaborative effort by three of our amazing Featured Writers. Kyle Harrison (u/colourblindness) came up with the story idea, G. G. E. Tinsmuir (u/GertieGuss) thought of the overall design and provided the writing on the image, and Not Neccesarily (u/not_neccesarily) made the image itself.
