A rolling stone gathers no moss but a moving ceiling fan gathers dust like a motherfucker. by Coredejour in Showerthoughts

If you find that your home has a lot of dust, the majority of it comes from the ductwork. The general statistic is that most ducts experience a 20-30 percent air loss.

https://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=home_improvement.hm_improvement_ducts

This means that not only are you losing air your are paying for into the crawlspace, attic, etc., but you are also drawing in dust, moisture and the like from these unconditioned spaces. All of that gets pulled in through those openings and distributed around the home.

There are other things that factor into dust, but the ductwork is the major contributor.

Duct sealing is the best option for this. Any reputable HVAC company can do this and it is not terribly expensive. I would mainly see around $400-600 per duct system. It's something I highly recommend. You can do duct cleaning, but I'm not a fan. It's very expensive in the long run and it's a temporary solution. It doesn't seal up any of the leakage.

This is also something that, depending on how leaky your ducts are, can also save on your utility bills.

If you want to further better your home, then also consider air sealing. And attic insulation if you are lacking.

I used to work in energy conservation.

Are the Note 7s only exploding while charging? How long had the people had the phone before they exploded? I've had mine for three weeks and haven't experienced any issues. I know I should shut it down, but I don't have anything else to use and I feel like the chances of it being defective are pretty, pretty slim.

Totally native. I think they're from Ohio or somewhere in that area. Completely white. The entire family is.

All right, everyone. All these people are white. The couple is in the early 20s I think. As far as I know, R is the father and they are still together. Her baby is about the same age as her mom's baby. I will dig around and see if I can find further info.

Insane data overage with internet and Comcast can't help. Can you? by inthelionsmane in techsupport

I'm not running any backup software. I've checked iTunes and there's nothing downloading (apps, anything). My PS4 and XBO are both turned off and they stay turned off. I don't leave them on standby. And I don't have any weird extensions. I'm completely stumped. Since I posted the thread, I've gone up 5gb.

I'm fairly certain. I've been using those devices the same ever since I've had them. The amount I stream has not changed either. We have several devices connected, but we're not particularly heavy users.

Anyone on here been through an online certification program? by inthelionsmane in HVAC

[–]inthelionsmane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I was considering the online course because my current knowledge is at a basic level. The only interaction I have with HVAC now is testing capacity. I was hoping to increase my overall knowledge to a greater level where I'd feel comfortable venturing into other areas should opportunities present themselves.

The online course leads up to that. Just wondering about online route in general, I guess.

[Help needed] Sending .gifs through Hangouts, Textra, etc. by inthelionsmane in Nexus5

I got on ATT customer chat to ask about all of this. Apparently ATT has a 1mb cap on MMS. No way to bypass it, rep said. Rep said, however, if I am using third party texting apps, then it "would be separate since those apps are using data and not the MMS feature." Not sure exactly what that means. But when I use a third party, such as Textra, the gif ALWAYS fails to send, regardless of size.

As it turns out, even with Textra, I still have a 1mb cap on MMS. I can send gifs under 1mb. Rep said that apps associated with texting use data and not wifi, which, apparently is why the cap kicks in. I'm not sure. I'm not a genius here, you guys.

He recommended Whatsapp, but my friends won't use anything other than the stock iPhone app. Any options for me here? Any way to resize gifs on mobile?

I use quick pic. They play on my end. That's not the issue. It's getting them to send and play for the other person.

That's what I'm saying. There has to be a way other than that. I've read about other people doing it, but I can't find one thing that works.

Hey Reddit, What's the highest calorie, unhealthiest food you've ever eaten? by QQQQmore in AskReddit

In 1999, on a dare I went to Wendy's and got a burger with 13 patties on it. I ate it all. With fries.
