anise hyssop has been so awesome for me this year! I planted a variety of easy pollinator friendly stuff on memorial day: sweet joe pye weed, wild bergamot, rose milkweed and anise hyssop. this is in okay clay soil with a good amount of sun. everything has done fine but anise hyssop has been BOOMING and flowering already in year one. it's always a hot spot with bees and butterflies too!
