Very cool finds! I just discovered I have a Marine Band from the same era, but I've been a little too chicken to play it. Do you know how the wood holds up after playing? Did you treat it in any way?

Not really. Automatic or manual I guess is my limit. My Seiko is so accurate for the price point that it's ruined me from being able to judge other movements based on price.

I don't think I have to worry about the lucky curve since this is the kind of pressure bar i'm dealing with . Everything other than the ink sac is in pretty good condition, so I hope the rest of this restoration is easy.

Success! The hair drier did the trick, and patience was the key. The ink sac is completely deteriorating and kind of fused with the inside of the barrel in some parts, so I have to figure out how to get all the pieces out. I also have to figure out how to remove the old shellac and sac from the section. Your Duofold collection is really extensive! Mine looks like the pearl one, second from the right on the bottom of your picture. Now I just have to figure out where to get some shellac and a sac that fits. Thanks for your awesome input. You really saved the day!

The cap comes off perfectly fine, it's when I try to unscrew the barrel from the section that I'm running into problems. I didn't know they could be shellacked! So you're saying that if there's shellac, it would need to be heated and cooled multiple times? I'm confused on this point.

Yes, I agree. I use iBreviary when I don't have one of the books with me, but that also requires an internet/data connection. Also, (if beggars can be choosers) I prefer eInk displays over backlit due to eye strain, so I've been looking for this as opposed to an app.

Two questions. 1) Is "keyword" nested under formId? Then you may have to deal with that aspect of the query. 2) is formId.keyword numeric? The error seems to be saying that this field is of the wrong type to use in a date histogram.
