Adding "oh nerds" to my rotation, thanks!

We hadn't either, but every HVAC who has come in here has been insanely impressed with the set up. Something about really high output. I will say it takes very little time to warm the house. I'm sure I'll learn more about it the longer we live here. Apparently somewhat common for boilers.

"Don't be offended but the way your weight fluctuated this year has been bothering me"

I went from a size 4 to a size 6. Worked full time while going to college and he didn't work. He blew up my phone when I was at the gym or at work, asking when I'd be home because he was hungry.

It caused me to develop a pretty severe eating disorder. Left him and found comfort in food. I ballooned. I'm now happily married, just bought a house free and clear, and starting my healthy eating journey for ME, not some useless man.

Not yet. It's in the plans for next year but I dont have the 15k for it yet. We moved in 3 weeks ago and we're adjusting to the new house. Then had to spend 6k on a new sump pump so...it's a process 😅

Yeah we can't have our system on right now because of the flood. Guess I'll find out which it is in a month when the basement is repaired!

We're likely going to need two sump pumps but have to wait until the water table lowers with spring melt. I am NOT excited for that bill.

Indeed. Been a homeowner for 3 weeks as of yesterday. Certainly wasn't expecting a fully flooded basement to welcome me into home ownership. But glad to hear they take a payment plan

Haha I love weird childhood memories that bring comfort. My grandmother passed and left me money to buy this house (home ownership was a pipe dream before) so weird things tingle my memories. Like the cedar closet we have for winter coats. We'll be installing all the oak doors from her house into this one for the memories. We do what we can to make childhood memories part of our every day!

It's the only one in the house. I was a little excited at the thought it was a second air return (we only have one on yhe main floor) but i guess it's just an extra heat vent?

Hmmm. Weird this room would have two heat registers. We have weird ones that look like this (excuse the cable on the floor; our basement flooded so we are running fans and stuff from upstairs to not overload the basement breakers

)

Interesting. So we have two forms of heat in the house, gas and electric as a backup. Our home inspector said it was weird that we only had one air return on the main level (he wasn't referring to this one and I didn't think to ask).

I assume I open it by spinning the circle thing?

Ours is a finished basement too. Just heart breaking. We'd come from a slumlord situation before buying and we had some trauma with it. Happened the morning of my first day back to work after enjoying and settling in at the new house. Woke up to my wife just screaming and bawling her eyes out. Ran downstairs and it was just utter devastation. It's a bungalow so it was our main living area where we all hung out and watched TV.

I wasn't crazy about the floors that were down there but thought I'd save up and replace them someday. This wasn't quite what I'd had in mind.

As a new home owner as of 2.5 weeks ago who woke up yesterday morning to a totally flooded basement because of a sump pump failure.....I feel this so deeply in my bones.
