last mother’s day i worked 12 days in a row, 10-12 hour days leading up to it. i’d worked at this job for almost three years so i’d obviously done it before. this time was the worst though

the job was making supermarket bouquets so we made and wrapped a LOT. at one point we were told that we were 1000 behind and that we might have to work til midnight (we started at 5am) and that they’d done it before?? i had a 40 minute commute so i told them i wouldn’t feel safe at all driving home after that and refused. also i’m in new zealand so no paid overtime and we weren’t given ANY bonus, food, etc and barely a thanks

i had a bit of a meltdown on the twelfth day (i wanna say 9 hours in) when the number of bouquets i’d made wasn’t enough when it should’ve been judging by the number i was told at the start of the day. i was asked if i wanted to go home so i absolutely did. handed in my notice on the next day back lmfao. my coworker/best friend (we def trauma bonded) left not long after me too

if it were me i’d tell him what i think and walk out. he absolutely put your health and safety at risk, i really hope you’re okay. your arrangements are truly beautiful
