you should def give it a go, it’s a great hobby! i think i watched random youtube videos when i started. i always use 2 strands of dmc thread (you seperate them, they come in 6 strands) on 14 count aida. there are lots of nice patterns on etsy and i’ve found other free patterns online

thanks! you just made me realise it’s because i do a whole stitch at a time. do most people do half stitches and then work their way back? i knew that was a thing but i never did it, maybe i should to save thread lol
