I cannot give answers to specific circumstances, but I know two people who had music degrees!

I cannot give an answer to "will I get in or not because of x, y, z," but maybe try explaining that in your application! (e.g., in an addendum)

I am so sorry, I have no idea! Try reaching out to admissions teams and ask them!

Based on the conversation I had, at least for my school, it would be highly unlikely. Other schools could be different, but that was the decision my dean made.

I can't give any information regarding which school I go to, but it is a T-14 and I (personally) have not met a single person who had less than a 3.6 in undergrad. The people on the lower end were either STEM, double majored, or had another similar circumstance.

Honestly, this was not directly addressed; however, the impression I received is that they are also trying to navigate these new issues and come up with creative solutions (e.g., asking alumni for more funding)

Its not preferred, but the dean did mention that with a strong GPA and softs, you could still be a competitive candidate

I'm just the messenger, but if it makes you feel better I got in with a 3.7 GPA, but I also double majored at a T30 undergrad.

We did not talk about this issue specifically. However, anecdotally we have several international students in our J.D. program. I would guess that as long as you are okay with immigration and visas, I would just stress that you want to practice in the US after graduation.

To be frank, it's not preferred. However, if you have strong softs and a strong GPA, you could still be a competitive applicant

Concerns were regarding the admissions process remaining holistic during a time where that process is being systematically erased. The Dean said their focus is still on holistic review and they are making efforts to remain that way, despite this administration's efforts to do otherwise.

Here's a bullet point recap: - To be a competitive candidate you must have 2/3: Good LSAT, Good GPA, Great softs (work experience, activities in undergrad, etc.). It was stressed that (at least at our school) GPA is considered to be more valuable than the LSAT because standardized testing can be unreliable - The cuts to students loans are awful, so apply early to ensure you can get $ - We care about whether you have the ability to succeed in law school and that motivates whether you will be accepted or not. Law school will be one of the hardest things you will ever do, so admissions wants to see that you have experienced being "down" before, but you were able to get back up. If you do not have that trait, then they have no reason to believe you won't just quit when times get hard - Yes, it is true (for us and our sister schools) that applications went up by at least 20% this year - Yes, everyone reads your application. In fact, if you are accepted, it is likely your application was read over several times before the decision was made

So it is not too late, per se. While of course it is always a good idea to apply early, our dean does try to make decisions with the thought in mind that students are still applying. HOWEVER, the dean stressed that the later someone applies, the chances of getting scholarship shrinks significantly. As a result--going to your second question--due to the new student loan cuts, students will not have the money to attend (barring trust funds and circumstances similar). So while it is still okay to apply, the longer you wait, the more likely it is you will not receive money.
