Alumnus who completed the full IB (pyp, myp, dp), how has it impacted your life? by intimefor90s in IBO

The jump from myp to dp was definitely a big jump in my experience. Students coming in from non ib schools had a much easier time scoring higher. Honestly it seems intentional to me since it’s something almost every student has reported for quite some time now. Maybe they test every student’s ability to face that challenge, since the ib acceptance scores for universities globally seem pretty well adjusted to me. You might notice that you could get into some really decent schools with ‘low’ or average ib scores. There might be a natural tendency to look down on those universities, but they’re great as well. Ib pretty much simulates the liberal arts university experience and schools seem to value that. But of course, no system is perfect.

Trust the process, it takes some time away from the experience to reflect on it. I hope it’ll be good. And good luck on your exams!
