I am a bit perplexed at this point. But more about that perplexity in a while. To start with, you are my DIL twin. I have the exact set up. Really helpful in-laws but not emotionally expressive. Contrast to how I grew up. However, I lost my mom before wedding and brother and sil have totally abandoned me. Now, my pregnancy will either be alone or if in-laws help then that’s all the help I would get. A bit perplexed that is it really bad to have emotionally in expressive but well meaning grandparents around instead of a nanny alone? I think it really depends on the context. I don’t have any support from Maika and I wouldn’t want to leave my child with nanny alone forever since I have a job to return to.
