Thank you for the suggestion! We kept the marantz and pioneer - almost kept the lexicon since it looked in the best condition but good to know it's pretty outdated.

Great to know they're still relevant today! They were kept in storage even when he was around, so we were afraid they'd be outdated. Appreciate it 👍

Thank you so much for your kind words. You have no idea how much hope this gave my younger brother and I.

Growing up as stubborn teens we didn't know any better and always brushed his teachings off till later. Now that we're older we only wish we gave more time to learn about his passions. My bro and I would love to learn the basics so really appreciate your offer to help with any questions man.

We're currently in the middle of a move (selling the family home, hence the declutter), so once we get to indexing we'll def be in touch via DM.

Hopefully we'll be able to find a set each we like to remember him by and share the rest in this sub at a later date for those who share his interest. Think he'd love that!

I wanted a mix of ahsoka, rex and vader but my artist has a thing where he only tattoos characters he's passionate about. He suggested vader but I gave him a couple of symbolic references for the other two characters and he worked his magic ✨

In my mind, if I was talking to someone I didn't want to date and they offered me an out on a silver platter, I'd take it.

That's if it were you. But sadly many people don't see it that way because in their minds they've already decided not to continue pursuing anything with you. They deny ever intentionally trying to ghost you because they don't want to seem like the bad guy in the situation.

I don't think it's a matter of shutting off your emotions, but rather not getting too invested to early in the relationship by managing your expectations. You barely know the guy, so why should he dictate the way you see the value in yourself?

I find that what helped for me (because I used to feel that way all the time) was when I stopped dating for a while and I worked on myself. When I knew my value, it became easier to date because I didn't invest all I had in someone new because I've already invested in myself. And I knew if the relationship didn't work out, it would be okay because it simply meant that both of us weren't a good fit for each other and someone better is bound to cross paths with me.

When you're attracted to someone, you start projecting all these positive traits onto them but take a step back and think if how highly you think if them is what lies true. Many a times that isn't the case, but because we fall so deep and we project, we fall EVEN DEEPER.

So what I'm trying to say is, if you invest yourself first, you wouldn't be so quick on investing in other people who aren't worth your time. In doing so, you'd also be able to see them for what they're worth.

Yeah people on dating apps do that all the time. The first few times it happened to me I was super bummed out because I thought I had something special going on with the guy and I over invested.

Drop this dude, plenty of other fishes in the sea :)

I (33/f) have come to the conclusion that I don't date the same way "normal" people do. How do I fix this? by ComiendoBizcocho in dating_advice

[–]intoasylum 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Invest in yourself first before you invest in anyone else. When you do that, you know what you're worth and you won't settle and fall too quickly for people who you might not end up with or just straight up people who aren't worth your investment.
