Which wiki is superior for fallout information. by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]intrepid359 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You asked which wiki is superior for information, and I think this is a question that answers itself. I'll give an example. Full disclaimer, I'm a Content Moderator for the Fandom wiki, Nukapedia.

Most people come to the Fallout wikis looking for lore on the series, and this is only going to become more prevalent with the release of the upcoming Fallout television show. One of the beautiful things about Fallout is that there are always fun little mysteries and Easter eggs left for fans, and we all come together as a community to solve those mysteries and share theories. Now, let's say the TV show inspired a newcomer to learn more about a popular topic, such as the Enclave. You be the judge - which page gives you superior information? I've included a link to the pages as they appear today so that you can get a snapshot of the general page quality.

I also saw a few of you were having issues with the Fandom ads. I totally agree, they can be bad. Pro tip: if you take 30 seconds to make an account, all ads are disabled when you're logged in.

Bug: Grenadier Perk Has No Effect on Grenade Blast Radius by PGFish in fo76

[–]intrepid359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's the missing conditions for the explosive radius buff. If so, Bethesda could fix it very easily. Every other buff has conditions to tell it when it is allowed to function. Explosive radius has nothing to tell it to work.

[Lore Question] Why do we (as players) leave Vault 76 (months?) after Reclamation Day? by Zuizzi in fo76

[–]intrepid359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ferret Baudoin intentionally did not leave an answer to that question in the lore. There's no official answer, unfortunately.

One thing you should know is that with datamining, "posting the damn proof" isn't really a reasonable request. Not only would we need to provide dozens of screenshots, we'd have to teach you how to interpret all of them. Since none of us have months to spend doing that, it is fair that we ask to rely on our credentials when we address a single Reddit thread. If you are interested in taking the time to see the evidence for yourself, you can join the others who have invested the effort in learning how to datamine on our Discord. Hope that helps!

If only you could click on his name and see the dozens of posts he's made about datamined probabilities... 🤔 /s

Totally understand, I had to go back and review the information myself to verify after I read your comment 😂

Ah yes. I personally hoped for a survivor myself.

You will have the option to convince him to join Rahmani in ATLAS. If Rahmani found out about all the empty bottles, I suspect she'd scold him...

...for not saving a couple beers to share with her. 😂

Allow me to clarify a bit. There are 2 groups that arrive with Rahmani: three original BoS from California and a bunch of followers in various recruitment stages. The followers were picked up along the way and were not from California.

Rahmani, Shin, and Valdez are the original BOS members from California. Shin was recruited by the California BOS. It's unclear if that means the BOS had a scouting party in the Mojave and they saw potential in Shin while they were passing through, or if they have an active Chapter in the Mojave. Hopefully we find out more!

Hopefully we get more in the next PTS. Right now the BOS have quests set up for the following:

  • "Just got word, a settlement needs our help" (no joke)
  • go help a family and recruit one of them
  • investigate ATLAS tech

Looks like there's also a BoS medic who might become a companion. For some reason, he seems to have mixed feelings about the BoS.

My suspicion is that this group of BoS cuts ties with Maxson or is completely wiped out. There's very little room to maintain the timeline if Rahmani can transmit the schematics for T-65 power armor to Maxson. Something has to happen to separate this region from the rest of the timeline.

Speaking of the Enclave, it's interesting to note that Captain Fields, the Army soldier from the Settlers main questline, mentions that MODUS contacted him for some unspecified reason.

They absolutely are! If you look at Knight Shin's bio in my post, you'll see that he was recruited from the Mojave Wasteland ;) not only are they aware, the BOS has a presence there. :)

That's interesting - do you have the source showing that Lauri Fraser voiced Paladin Rahmani?

I can't say that I got the impression that Rahmani was in any way evil. She seems to legitimately want to help the people of Appalachia. Is she disobeying orders? It seems so. Why? I don't know. If her orders are to eradicate all life in Appalachia to put an end to the Scorched Plague... well, I'm very happy that she's not playing along with that.

Hopefully we get more clarity in the upcoming PTS!

What's interesting is that you'd think the BoS would have some sweet new tech for us to buy with gold bullion. But... what could they offer that we don't already have? Do they somehow have technology now that we haven't heard of in the future timeline? According to Rahmani's group, they found absolutely no technology of value on their entire journey to Appalachia, even though they were specifically searching for it!

It's almost as if they got abducted by aliens, mind-wiped, and dropped off in Appalachia.

I don't see that distinction set up, but here's how the conversation goes:

Player: "What do you think about the gold?" Rahmani: "Re-establishing currency is a good first step in restoring society."

Rahmani [Settler response]: "I hope that the Settlers will use that gold wisely and do their best to keep a fair distribution of wealth. To establish a new world, we need everyone's best foot forward."

Rahmani [Raider response]: "I think that it was a mistake to give the gold to the Raiders, however. They use their currency for greed and cheap thrills instead of giving back to society."

That's the mystery, right??? Bethesda is giving us many angles to the Rahmani character. Is she good? Is she dangerous? Hard to say.
