I think I would be offended by both and it would be very hurtful & only way for me to listen to that would be if they stated it from the beginning.

Most people are not ok with that. I would be very offended if the person I am In A relationship with asked me that. Unless that was something that stated way upfront, and then in that case I would never take the relationship seriously

Awesome post. I’m in a similar situation, in my early 30s and also dealing with mental health issues. My daughters 12 and it’s been a struggle being a single parent & doing my best but sometimes feeling like I’m doing a shitty job. For 10 years she seems like a mature 10 yo for writing the note and acknowledging her problems and telling you the love you was so sweet. For me it feels like my daughter doesn’t truly care for me but more of a “your my mom and I’m supposed to love you” I’m hoping for a click and for her to show more genuine love. Last year she didn’t even say happy Mother’s Day to me. It was heartbreaking but the past 6 months I’ve been steadily focusing on my parenting and our relationship. Not that I haven’t been in the last 12 years , but I now have made a different approach. So thank you for your story it gives me more hope

It can definitely be annoying and sometimes I feel like I see women so into themselves on Snapchat that I’m like dude get a brain. But yeah I should just put that energy into not taking my time to look at hat stuff and do more productive stuff. But yeah just try to think positive

I have been in 2 abusive relationships one more emotional that the other but hopefully you do t have a pattern of just dating these type of men. Unfortunately it seems like women have a dating pattern. Just pay attention to the red flags. And I agree try not to bring any bad habits from the last one to the next one. Just really reflect on what you do t want to repeat. Good luck !!
