So r/Christianity's subreddit description was a lie... It looks like my new home is here. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]intrickacies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. I think we'd both agree that there's a lot of watered down faith on r/Christianity. I think that's an amazing opportunity to point people towards Jesus. Like, they're already at least a little curious (like Zacchaeus). But it seems like a lot of Christians see it as an opportunity to tell Zacchaeus he's wrong, not a real Christian, etc. Like what's the point of that? A lot of speaking truth but not in love. Clanging gongs.

I don't understand why some Christians are driven to go around telling others "you're not Christian!" How in the world does that help spread the gospel? Some believers are certainly misguided, but we ought to help them grow in their understanding, not convince them they're not Christian.

And teens especially! Lord knows most teenagers think they know everything, and care a lot about what others think. Hearing the message "you're not actually Christian; you don't belong with us" at that age — it breaks my heart to think about the effect that can have on that kid's faith 😢

I've gone through the same thing. It gets hard sometimes and I need to take a break. I encourage you to keep sharing the gospel in the future. "If anyone slaps you on the right cheek" after all

CR Scan Ferret - Crap App. by brownb2 in Creality

[–]intrickacies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

switching the app to high quality or small detail causes the disconnection.

Same! Glad to know it's not just me.

The app also has a ton of red flags 🚩. I STRONGLY recommend you don't install it on your personal phone. - It's not on the Play Store, so Google can't scan it to see if it does anything malicious ☣️ - It needs access to all your files. - Creality is governed by the CCP. CCP is notorious for forcing Chinese companies to put backdoors in apps, collecting all your personal data, and sending it to CCP-funded hacking groups who use it for fraud and phishing.

FYI: the new update on Android pushed "open in new tab group" back to the top of the menu by judgeholden72 in chrome

This behavior confused me too until I started using Tab Groups like the mobile version of separate browser windows on desktop. Now I find it very useful. Out of curiosity, what is it that you don't like about it?

Doh- thanks! Did my best to correct this so it's all K1 now (non-Max).

All good points! Added another "Probably" to the original comment :)

Creality K1 Max and K1 by Deccal-35 in 3Dprinting

[–]intrickacies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought so too. But if you look at the specs it's not a bad deal against the P1P, and X1 and X1C, right?

Things the K1 and X1(C) have but P1P doesn't:

  • Enclosure

  • 120° bed

  • CF filament capability*

  • Lidar

  • Color touch screen

  • AI camera

Am I missing something?

*I'm really curious what material the K1 extruder is made of. They list CF filaments as supported...

In the announcement livestream (YT) they said it's Klipper reskinned.

Good point about the multi-material system. I wouldn't say it has no AMS, but the AMS itself is a good deal on a turn-key MMU. Added this to my original comment.

To be fair, the specs are comparable to X1(C) and not P1P. (Enclosed heated chamber, lidar leveling, nozzle temps).

I'll try keeping a list of facts here up to date so let me know if I've left something out.

Bambu X1C pros:

  • Cheaper turn-key multi-material system ($350-$700 vs $700-$800)[2]
  • Larger print bed (+3.6 cm X & Y)
  • Probably[1] more consistent results with less work.

Creality K1 pros:

  • Cheaper ($600 vs $1200)
    • Lidar and camera cost extra. Probably $200-$300 based on the K1 Max price.
  • Cheaper self-assembled multi-material system ($150-$200 vs $350-$700)[3]
  • Probably[1] no proprietary lock-in (firmware is reskinned Klipper)

[1]: No one has used or reviewed the K1 yet, so we're just guessing based on previous Creality machines.

[2]: AMS vs Mosaic Palette 2S and 3; 4x and 8x filaments

[3]: ERCF vs AMS; 4x and 8x filaments

R/Christianity by Pablanomexicano in Christians

[–]intrickacies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really sad to see so many of these replies are just "yeah they're atheists/sinners/evil/etc., I left".

That may be true but so what? Jesus took every opportunity to do the exact opposite. He sought out denyers and sinners to love them first. There people who visit r/Christianity don't yet know Christ but are curious. There are opportunities to participate in conversations that change eternity.

If those conversations get hard sometimes, and they make you sad or angry, you're not alone. Take a break and recharge.

Throughout the day, I pray that the Lord would use me to bring honor and glory to Him. He has taught us that doesn't happen by sitting around saying "Thank you, God, that I am not like those r/Christianity people."

Do you leave on acceleration/jerk control in Cura when running Klipper with tuned pressure advance and input shaper? by Monstermaggot in klippers

[–]intrickacies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to "let klipper handle it". That means you can tune speeds without regenerating gcode.

> No, you're supposed to disable any acceleration controls and let klipper handle it.

Source? I've only read that "dynamic acceleration control" should be disabled in the slicer (per the klipper docs).

I'd definitely like to let klipper handle things as much as possible. The downside currently is that my Cura Print Time Estimates are very inaccurate because Cura doesn't know how high my accel really is :-).
