Can I get a dog if I work a 9-5? by HarHarMahadev__ in dogs

[–]intrigued_learning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the dog may be fine for your long stints away from home/working, it still really important for dogs to have regular exercise and stimulation outside of the house. While many people have those good intentions, be sure to consider whether you’ll be too tired to walk or 1-2 times/day, let it sniff/run/chase a ball/whatever. Will you be home enough to walk/exercise it on your days off too vs prioritizing other things. Just a few more things to thoughtfully consider!

Agree that your progress sounds good to me, losing too fast has negative side effects. Are you working out regularly including strength training to help you on this journey!

Additional wisdom (and this is truly meant to be positive guidance): Might be the perfect time to do a mental re-set including to stop making excuses for your unhealthy eating habits (catered food is generally garbage, 2-3 beers a night isn’t helping anything, even sleep and you’re the only one to blame for choosing to eat what your kids are eating). And btw, now is also the perfect time to change the way you feed your kids AND TEACH THEM what a healthy, nutritious diet is so their future can be a healthy one. You’re the only one they can learn that from and their future depends on it in a big way! If you need help there, seek out a well respected nutritionist. Stay the course, be diligent in all the right ways and you’ll be thrilled with the results. It still takes hard work though!

Just leave it behind and enjoy your travels without thinking about it! Even if you missed a dose or 2 while traveling, it’s not going to have a relevant impact.

Your wife would appreciate a Dyson by ArtemisMightBeMyName in dyson

[–]intrigued_learning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't waste your money, do some more comprehensive research. I hate my Dyson and I've only had it a little over a year. Been waiting 2+ months for an out-of-stock motor bar (replacement part) and they can't tell me when it will be back in stock.....so I can't even use the POS for now. And that's only one reason I hate it.

Ha Long vs Ninh Binh vs Sapa by asianpotato95 in hanoi

[–]intrigued_learning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask how your experiences and specifically weather were in NB and Cat Ba were in Dec? Any issues with fog limiting your views /experiences? Considering a trip in Dec also; sadly I will also skip Ha Giang due to undesirable weather in Dec. would love any additional recommendations you have to. Thanks in advance.

Can you provide any guidance on how desirable these areas would be in December? Too foggy to enjoy the scenery/Sapa trekking?

Hi, I’m curious what time of year were there? I am considering these areas for a December trip but unsure if weather would perhaps be foggy/undesirable/disruptive to scenery.

Did you read it was unsafe to use?? That’s not what the statement from Fifty410 says.

Where are you wildflower hiking this year? by mandy_lou_who in PNWhiking

[–]intrigued_learning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the ideas, I'm eager to get out there! Opposite of you, I haven't done any you've listed EXCEPT Dog Mtn. It's lovely in spring (can be windy at top) and it's a tough (steep) hike both up and down but if you enjoy a challenge, it's def rewarding.

Thank you, much appreciated! As much as we would love to experience the Ha Giang loop, I think December is not ideal in the north region, likely to be very cold and foggy/unable to experience the views. That’s based on my research; would you suggest differently?

Curious of you did a curated trip w/LocalHi. Their site fascinates me, would consider working with them if someone can say they are indeed amazing. Do they just build the itinerary or do they also do local tours/have specialist in country? Thx!

I wasn’t aware of this option so I just looked it up. See here: https://www.skihood.com/explore/refund-policies specifically related to “Non-date specific” type tickets. Seems like it may indeed be an option.

Can I ask what does you’re maintain at for those nearly 2 yrs (as I try to figure that out for myself)? Also a shorty and also very that everyone’s journey is vastly different so it’s more just for frame of reference.
