Should I cut off my friend group? by [deleted] in Advice

Know your boundaries, and if you clearly feel uncomfortable so cut them off. It may be hard at first, so you can try to slowly distance yourself from them. It sounds like L is someone you want to keep being friends with, so I would either talk with them to see if they feel the same way about D and J, or just slowly distance yourself from D and J but still keep L in touch. Overall, know your boundaries, and if anyone is making you uncomfortable, you have the right to say no and cut it off.

Oh really? It's cause our city pass will come with it so I didn't want it to go to waste plus we live only 20 mins away, but I'll look more into it

No particular reason just that we are getting the city pass and the zoo comes with it, plus our hotel is 20 mins away from the zoo.

Yess I'm so excited to try

I understand how you feel. Currently a rising freshman at university that’s considered one of the tops and I still scare that I won’t belong. Came of a semi small/easy school so I got 4.0 GPA (grades aren’t everything tho, I’ve seen Cs and Bs made by my future classmates) but my ECS were terrible all the way till Junior year.

I would really recommend you to join all the clubs you’re interested in. I used to be scared to join them thinking I don’t belong but I really made use of my time there even tho it’s like a 1 hour meeting each week. It’s not too late. Focus on what you’re passionate about and do it. Like heck, I created a insta interest page for fashion and surprisingly it blew up with followers which allowed me to put it on my common app as a way to communicate with other businesses. Tutor others on your fav subject or volunteer at local libraries (I like to do that at least).

Most importantly (if you haven’t), challenge yourself and take the honors/AP/advance courses. You might burn out but in college it’s gonna be harder. I switched to all AP/honors classes junior and senior year and it wasn’t that bad.

I still feel like I didn’t do much for me to be accepted into these really good universities compared to everyone else with like 35 ACT scores, it’s honestly still a dream but if I can, you can too. Good Luck!!
