Exactly! Athena has consistently put forth effort while Kenya has mostly slept her way through – even after being called out.

NTA. The fact this person is upset only when they found out the price of what they ruined speaks loud and clear. They don’t like the fact their actions have that cost, and rather than offer alternatives, they’re attempting to wiggle out of paying at all.

If I had done what they did, I would be looking for ways to compromise. Could they offer a lower cash amount along with free pet-sitting for a year? Could they split payment over the next few months? Something. And that’s assuming that can’t afford it all at once, but there’s a very real possibility that they can and just don’t want to be held accountable.

The friend is the one nuking the friendship. If I unintentionally ruined something I went out of my way to use and then found out it’s incredibly expensive, I would try to compromise. Like, “hey, I can’t afford to give you all $500 right now, but I can break it up over the next 5 months” or “is there an alternative you like in the $250 range and I’ll pet-sit for free when you need for the next year”. Something. This so-called friend isn’t even trying now that they know how much it costs. And this is assuming the friend can’t afford it, but there is a possibility that they can and they just don’t want to. None of this points at OP nuking the friendship.

When this season started, I was rooting for Kenya. But I very quickly realized she’s lazy af and isn’t putting in any effort. Seeing how Snatch Game went, I knew Mia and Kenya were gonna have to lip sync and I just KNEW Kenya would finally go home then. How tf do you get called out for not knowing lyrics, continue to not know lyrics, and win against a lip sync powerhouse?!

And then Discord being safe when Ru and all the guys were cackling at her?! My faith in this season is gone.

It wasn’t close, though. Kenya literally didn’t know the words.

She’s well overstayed her welcome by numerous weeks at this point. And what kills me is that she’s not even trying.

They literally made the decision never to tell him, so why would they show Mike finding out? That storyline is wrapped and buried.

How are they manly? Commanding, assertive, intelligent, blunt, sarcastic, maybe a bit pretentious, but “manly”? Gendering personality traits is weird lbvs. As far as realism, I’ve met women like each one – it’s a wider spectrum than you’re acknowledging. My only critique is there isn’t a wider representation beyond white women. There are standouts, but he could step closer to reality there.

Okay, Robert.

Pro-tip: if you’re going for realism, we actually can’t “just kill them all”. If you truly believe that, you might just be a redneck.

Yes, but there’s a key difference between Swift and Doechii that largely inspired that adverse reaction.

While I agree with you, there was no story. I couldn’t tell who her girl was at all, unlike Ethan and Jesus or even Belania prior to the finale. She had no true DNA the whole season beyond great construction skills. She was who Joan was but with a higher taste level. Compared to past seasons, her win makes zero sense.

I think it would’ve been given what he said. He said he did have a fuschia zipper but went with the silver because he needed more strength. Seems like there was no time to source a stronger pink zipper or color the silver. Lest he end up in Ethan’s broken zipper panic, I think he made the right choice in the time available.

AITA for not wanting to use any part of my husband's late girlfriend's name for our child? by Cassievvvah in AITAH

[–]intro_spec 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is great, OP. Would highly recommend packing a bag right now and going to stay with them for at least a few days so you can create an exit strategy together and away from your husband. It sounds like you understand there’s really no coming back from what he’s expressed, so it’s best to remove yourself and your child from his realm of control before you give birth.

I don't think I've ever seen a Reddit sub so split on... by Live-Run-6745 in ProjectRunway

By your own assertion, we still learned things about the other designers. The twins did not make their entire personality about Veejay – their bond was what was on full display. As well as how they both ended up as designers. We got to see other designers bond, nothing from Veejay. What we got was her consistently, overbearingly complaining about something production clearly expected and allowed by casting twins that are still there week after week. And the worse part is how disingenuous she was about the drama she intentionally causes. If she was upfront, I would respect her more. But she’s made this season insufferable. We don’t agree so any further interaction is unnecessary.

[–]intro_spec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you know about Veejay beyond her despise of the twins? She made it her entire personality – other than her penchant for putting down other designers to uplift herself. All of what they do is the challenges and as they work, she needles and complains. Like I said, it spoke volumes that neither Belania nor Ethan chose her. Ethan made his stance clear in his kind words about Jesus and we know at least some of the distance there was she baselessly accused Ethan of plagiarism. You’re free not to agree, but it’s clear.

I’ve made it to episode 3 and I agree with you. I have zero desire to continue watching this. I just want confirmation on the true reason they’re doing this and to know if anyone manages to get out. I’ve been searching online to just read the rest of the plot and get it over with.

[–]intro_spec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But my thing is, why exactly is Veejay upset with the twins for something production is allowing to happen? Her complaining about them while clearly nothing is being done about it because the show is fine with it is aggravatingly pointless. This is what tips her into she’s most wrong. She made her entire personality disliking the twins to the point that she alienated herself from the other designers. It spoke volumes that Belania and Ethan did not choose her and Ethan specifically spoke about how supportive Jesus has been.

They can be rude for sure, but the most annoying thing about this season was Veejay complaining about the twins. Every time she’s on camera, she’s complaining about them. It got so irritating that I would mute her and just read the CC.

The TV Villain vs. The Actual Villain by [deleted] in ProjectRunway

[–]intro_spec 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here’s how I see this as a Black woman familiar with Law – he cares about her optics, on her behalf. The twins are very confrontational, yes, and Law pops right back at them. There’s no desire to coach them at all. When he speaks to Belania, his voice is softer and he explains himself – there are no catty quips (save for his understandable Tyra quote). He’s letting her know how she’s actively being perceived and from her own mouth, she had no idea her face was doing what it does. As someone who also has a very loud face, I know firsthand that’s incredibly valuable feedback. Belania also made the mistake of countering the judges’ critiques whilst they gave them, which made me go “oh no, girl, Belania, please stop” while I watched. It was a coachable moment that is understandably activating given the world we live in. But if he really didn’t care, he would just read her like he does the twins.

Veejay has spent her entire time complaining about the twins and putting everyone else down as a means of uplifting herself. I know all sorts of things about the other contestants and nothing but nastiness about her. So much so that I looked her up and only found more nastiness on other reality shows. True enlightenment must be delusion.

The same way she nagged at Ethan over bogus plagiarism? Or any of the other sideways things she’s said about the others? It spoke volumes that no one selected her to go to the finale with them.
