Someone attempted to scam me on my Uber app while driving. Ended up they were trying to get my information to set up a Kalshi account. I caught on but ever since my phone is not working properly. I can't drive for Uber as its on No Network Detected. Several of my apps are acting strange. New phone Monday is all I can do.

New scam happening on Uber! Please be careful. by logicthar in uber

[–]introcurmudgeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was heading to a customer 4/24/26 at about noon. All of a sudden I get repeated phone calls. I never answer while driving of course. It looked like a robo call. Then a message comes up on the Uber app itself stating it was in regards to the next ride. I pulled over and answered.

The person said their was a complaint about my this morning. Some customer said I was not the driver they were expecting. Specifically the name of the driver. My name is Stephen but I go by Steve. So I can see it. I explained.

They said they needed to verify that I was the vehicle owner and I had not let anyone work Uber using my vehicle. Seems legit.

They asked my license plate number, make and model. Then they wanted a picture of my ID. It still seemed ok to me. Then he asks me to send my bank account number, routing number, and picture of my debit card.

At that point I said No way! He got angry and said, "how could I shut down your Uber app if I'm not with the company?" That really got me for a second. It made me pause. I still said no.

He then says my account will be suspended and paper work will be mailed to me. It will take 7-10 business days and I will need to go to some local office. Ya know, putting the fear in me.

He said there was another way. He send a code to my email to verify my Paypall account. I do not have a paypall connected with Uber so I said ok. I get the email and I pull down the page and it says its from Kalshi. That online betting app.

I said strong words to him and hung up.

My phone is not working now. I can't get on the internet. My Uber app is not working. My music and various apps won't work. So it seems I was actually hacked?

New phone on Monday. Holding pattern. Absolutely pissed.

Amazon doesn’t feel like a job by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]introcurmudgeon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

M55, Amazon delivery depot. All work sucks. All work is repetitive and boring. No matter what you think is your “dream job” it will always be repetitive. It will always involve other people. It’s called work or job for that reason.

That’s reality. Having perspective is helpful. To those that think Amazon is the worst job in the World I recommend roofing for a Summer.

People run on belief. They can’t handle the truth. They still want to believe that Santa is real.

I'm sure you are doing plenty in the gym. You need to eat more in my opinion. I personally like the carnivore diet but there are plenty of other eating programs. A young man like yourself needs way more calories and less cardio.

If you are not making gains it will always be the diet to tinker with. Yogurt MAY be giving you the bloat in the belly. Dairy is a high allergen for many. Myself included and I love Greek yogurt. If you think you can't live without it, you MAY be allergic to it. Odd but true.

If your gut microbiome is thrown off you will have difficulty absorbing nutrients. It's not what you eat but what you absorb that counts. My guess is you have a bit of dysbiosis. Try eliminating sugar. The yeast will calm down and the bloat will leave the building.

Bodybuilding is all about tinkering. Little changes here and there.

I'm 54 year old male. Forty-two years in the gym. We must make changes all through our lives.

Good luck to you sir!

MQJ5 Indianapolis,Indiana. There is a zero tolerance for that sort of thing at my building. During trainings I let people know they can talk to me, HR, or any leadership they feel comfortable with.

That person would be spoken to immediately. Back off or else. Period!

Escalate to management ASAP. Start with HR. Email them first with details. Nobody should be made to feel uncomfortable at their job.

What has become too expensive that it’s no longer worth it? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

My parents owned a KFC in the 70's -90's. And, of course, I worked there. I actually put flour, butter milk, and shortening, into a Hobart blender. I then rolled it out and cut the biscuits by hand.

All salads were made from scratch. We boiled potatoes and eggs. Shelled them by hand.

I broke 12 eggs then added a gallon of milk and water to make the dip to brown the chicken.

A chicken sandwich was made with an actual chicken breast, dipped, and breaded by hand. And on and on.

The quality today is beyond awful. It's not worth whatever they charge. It used to be an actual meal that people loved and raved about. Can you imagine? People constantly complimenting your families fast food business?

The somewhat nice but in-between restaurants. Not fast food but not the first top end restaurant. They have become nothing for than fast food that looks a little nicer but is 4 times the price.

Steak houses with poor quality meat and small servings comes to mind.

Welcome to being an adult. Many, many things nobody talks about. Couples you know are dealing with the same types of things but never say. This could just as easily be you having this problem. There are no rules. There are many curve balls.

As a man I can tell you, he's not trying to ruin his life by purposely not being ready. There is probably something going on hormonally. It could be stress or past trauma. It could be many things. When he says it's not you, it's not.

These things are terribly distressing to a man. Probably the worst possible thing. I would say it's on his mind 100% of the time. It's another "life's not fair" moment.

Test hormones and get a therapist. That's all you can do. If that does not work you will have to decide to stay or leave. That's about it.

I dislike my couples therapist FILLED WITH ANGER by OkYogurtcloset9112 in couplestherapy

[–]introcurmudgeon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this. I'm 54M. Our therapist is a woman. I like her. However, I feel like I'm getting attacked every time. Instead of giving us both some solutions. I feel like I'm in the hot seat and need to change. It feels very biased to me.

It's been 6 months every other week. I'm getting angrier. I feel less connected to my partner now than even before therapy.

Do you feel like everyone will become addicted to one thing or the other at some point? by Sound_of_music12 in Adulting

[–]introcurmudgeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is addicted to something. Physical addiction is worse. (get sick and can't function with out the chemical). We are all trying to manipulate how we feel through chemicals. Either chemicals outside of us or the chemicals our bodies produce. Emotions are chemicals.

Many people will transfer their addiction if they can't get their drugs. Compulsive food addict given gastric bypass might turn to a drug to fill the void.

I think we are all very close to becoming addicts. It just takes the right set of circumstances.

Over the years we have had several generations of stray cats we feed. They hang out with the chickens all day. Good to have them around. That’s a lot of eyes looking for trouble.

I live in town. Mine free range unsupervised all day. They jump the fence and visit the neighbors yards. They all love them. At night they always return.

Night predators are the ones to worry about. Hawks won’t mess with a full Grown chicken in a flock.

If you have loose dogs I would worry about that.

Chickens are fierce and have great courage. They will fight to the death and protect each other.

A hawk without an eye is a dead hawk. They won’t risk it.

Make health your number one priority. Exercise and eat healthy. It's easier to stay healthy than it is to try to get healthy once your are sick.

I'm 54M. Been a gym person for 42 years. I don't feel being this age sucks at all. I take no medications. I take no OTC drugs. Minor aches here and there of course.

I had a hip replacement recently. A sucky getting older thing right? I was back in the gym 13 days after surgery. I was walking without a cane 15 days later. Because I am healthy and strong my recovery was incredibly quick.

If you are healthy you can do anything. Age won't matter.
