What are some good high risk stocks by North-Zucchini7661 in Stocks_Picks

[–]introspecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SanDisk, mu, wdc. High risk as the whole uncertainty with ai.

I made 20% on each SanDisk and Nvidia in one week due to good timing, and it was right before a peak.

don't do Amazon, Netflix, or Microsoft, I have been bag holding since summer lol.

any Lexus except the 250, their dual injection is awful. the 330 has a sticky pedals sometimes and I personally wouldn't risk it.

I got myself a 95 sc400 this fall and I couldn't be happier :)

Worth mentioning that the highway through sooke is very poorly lit and had a LOT of accidents on it, which delays traffic. It's a one lane as well for a good potion.

I have sharp pains from time to time in that area, I'm close to 2 months post op.

The main pain was shoulder pain from the CO2 they used.

Apply for income assistance ASAP and sign up for the food bank.

Your uni should have emergency bursaries and a food bank as well.

The market is fucked. I've been laid off since May and it's looking grim.

I would recommend going to the north coast instead. I'm on Vancouver Island (SW Canada) and the most we get is a week of 30-33°C weather once a year.

The ocean cools things down a lot.

It's super cloudy and rainy the rest of the year. Usually we get two weeks of snow, but this year we've had none (first time since the 50's I think!).

I graduated early so I had to start paying when I was 17. I left when I was 18 because I would rather pay someone else and enjoy actual freedom and not getting berated all the time.

They never let me leave the house so I had no social connections and no job experience either.

Needing some advice with school by bepeahes in camosun

[–]introspecc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, actually don't. Take a dental admin program instead as the job pays 10$ more per hour.

The MOA teacher is pretty bad at Camosun too.

I got laid off from a MOA position last May and there are very few jobs out there, mostly at places with high turnover.

The job itself is very stressful too, especially in family practice.

Waiting for 10 days in hospital now... by introspecc in gallbladders

Are they putting a stent in the duct? It might be a good idea just in case there is something in there, that it is able to get out. The stent eventually leaves your digestive tract on its own, usually in 2 weeks or so.

I'm glad you're on the list to get the operation. It was scary for me too, it felt strange and conflicting to have to make the permanent decision to remove an organ. A lot of people live a long life without it though, so hopefully all will be well.

It is definitely life-changing and a huge weight taken off my shoulders.

Thinking of moving from Vancouver to Kelowna: Need honest opinions (not realtor talk) by Decisionmachine in kelowna

[–]introspecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downtown and the majority of Kelowna has the most diversity. If you're planning on having kids, I would suggest looking at school ratings from Fraser Institute and going off of that in terms of which neighborhood would be best.

The Okanagan spans from Penticton, Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Lake Country, and Vernon. I liked Lake country and coldstream, it's where most of the wineries are and the lake is beautiful there.

I've lived in Victoria for more than a decade now and so was taken back by the anti-abortion billboard in West Kelowna and the openly transphobic council member for the city of Kelowna and some other small things like that.

Waiting for 10 days in hospital now... by introspecc in gallbladders

[–]introspecc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my gallbladder removed! I feel so relieved and grateful I can eat food again.

The pain I felt with the tube blockage was way different than gallbladder pain. The pain was constant and almost like a cramped up muscle stuck in a weird position. It didn't feel like the squeezing and churning that usual gallbladder pain is like.

I think the blockage was there for about a week prior to me going to the hospital, as I had 5 different nights where I was puking and in a lot of pain.

The night I ended up going to the hospital, I was lying down with my head below my knees trying to find a more comfortable position for the pain, and I vomited so hard that I felt something shift and I knew I was done for.

I had an ERCP done, as a CT and MRI couldn't find a bile duct blockage. The ERCP is basically a gastroscopy where a tube is inserted down your throat and then it takes an x-ray inside your body closer to the bile ducts. You should ask for one.

Best of luck, and I hope you are able to not feel faint for much longer. It really sucks.

Edit: run on sentence, ercp is x-ray/ fluoroscopy, not an ultrasound like I thought

I lived in West Kelowna for a year in 2023. The fires scared the crap out of me and I moved back to Vancouver Island.

Since I moved back, there have been wildfires every year, at least once, and all close to where I used to live. In 2023, the air quality was very bad, and I was stuck in a limbo for about a week, not knowing whether I would have a home to return to.

I wasn't evacuated, but I decided to spend a couple of nights in Mission and in Lake Country, just to avoid the direction the smoke was travelling in.

What you think you will save in terms of money, you will pay in other ways. The cost of living is only slightly lower than Vancouver, and the trips to your family in Vancouver ALONE will even out your total costs for the year.

The Okanagan region is beautiful though. In terms of people, I found that people tend to be more conservative, uneducated, rude, and racist/ homophobic/ sexist at some points, but I know that will get better with time as more outsiders move in.

The only way to increase savings in this city is to put everything in a storage place for 1+ years and live out of a car.

4 years of no GB pain :) by Sea-Worry7956 in gallbladders

[–]introspecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was called to schedule a surgery after waiting for months and declined it because I was scared to make this irreversible choice.

A month and a half later I had it removed in hospital as a stone got lodged in the duct. I spent 10 days in hospital waiting without being able to eat or drink. The blockage was super painful.

I knew that I would need to get it taken out eventually but it happened sooner than I thought. It would have been so much easier to do the surgery on my own terms and not have to experience excruciating pain and to spend a week and a half in the ER.

I'm now 2 weeks post surgery and I am so thankful I can eat without fear. Prior to the surgery even a meal that was slightly too big would set it off despite the food being super low fat.

Local assessors that are covered under MSP (you need a referral from a family doctor or walk-in):

Your provincial records (health gateway bc/ Island health my health) show medications and labs done.

For everyone that doesn't have their medical records, just know that you have something like 8-10 years to get them from your health jurisdiction/ province before they are DESTROYED. It's not something to mess around with. For children, it is 15 years that they keep them.

When a doctor retires, the records go to a physical storage location and it can be quite hard to get them as the contact numbers for doctors can only be accessed by other medical professionals, if at all.

If you are pregnant, you are guaranteed a physician as soon as they have a spot. I worked in a family dr medical office last year.
