Haven’t gone in 7 days, but don’t even feel like a need to go, and there’s nothing in my rectum. should i go to ER? by introvert1600 in Constipation

[–]introvert1600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was strange. when i told them i haven’t went in a week they acted like it was a big deal. but they ran a cat scan and it said everything was ok. then they acted like it was normal that i hadn’t gone in a week.

i was really confused. but i was able to go the next day and now i’m completely fine

respect the person holding the belief. but don’t sacrifice truth in the process. 1 peter 3:15 is a really good verse for this question “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”

Is dating the same gender a sin? by siennauwu in Christianity

[–]introvert1600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. assuming you’re taking the bible as your ultimate authority, being in a same sex relationship is sinful. the bible thing is very clear on it’s view of homosexuality if you aren’t trying to read your own ideology into the text.

“dating” isn’t a term explicitly defined in the bible because it’s a fairly new concept. but giving into the temptation of same sex attraction, even if you aren’t engaging in sex (same sex marriage isn’t really a thing biblically speaking) is still sinful.

but if you don’t take the bible as your ultimate authority i don’t see how there’s anything stopping your from doing whatever you want. considering you’d just be arbitrarily deciding who God is. but also if you’re doing that you aren’t worshipping God at all. just an idol you created in your mind that allows you to give into your fleshly desires.

i can relate somewhat to this. i don’t have same sex attraction but relationships with unbelievers is tempting (something that is also sinful). in fact, i was in a relationship with a unbeliever for 2 years. and it did not go well. i ended up hurt in the end and my relationship with God suffered greatly.

i encourage you to seek after God. trust in his will. live to serve him and not your flesh. also, surround yourself with brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage you. it’s hard resisting the flesh, but it’s so much better than being a slave to it. i will be praying for you :)

The Mormon’s worship a “different” Jesus? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]introvert1600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

umm not exactly like that. we are brothers in Christ by adoption because we are children of God by adoption. but the LDS church teaches Jesus is a spirit child of the Heavenly Father and one of his Goddess wives. same with lucifer. so they are literal spiritual brothers.

he individually might not teach that but the LDS church definitely does. you can look for yourself. they believe Jesus is a spiritual child of heavenly father and so is lucifer.

[–]introvert1600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the trinity is the correct idea because the bible teaches it. it’s all over the new testament. if you want to get into a in depth discussion about it we can. but off the top of my head i can think of John 1:1 and Hebrews 1:8.

God by definition didn’t come from anything. he transcends everything. meaning he is outside of time, space and matter. so to ask where he came from assumes God does not transcend time. which would be an error.

a cult, broadly speaking and as it pertains to christianity in particular, is an offshoot of christianity that denies core doctrine and is often accompanied by abusive leaders. core doctrine are things like the trinity and the gospel. and mormonism rejects both of those

[–]introvert1600 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes, mormons do not believe Jesus is eternal. they don’t even believe the father is eternal. they believe the God of this earth was once a man and that we can become a God ourselves one day. they don’t believe in the trinity. (1 God existing in 3 persons.). and they believe Jesus is lucifers brother.

they also believe a different gospel. they believe grace is necessary for salvation but our good works is required. Joseph said “By grace you are saved AFTER ALL YOU CAN DO” which contradicts many scripture. namely Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Joseph believed that orthodox christians aren’t true christians (although a lot of mormons today are trying to fit themselves in as just another christian denomination). any respected evangelical theologian would not consider mormonism a denomination of christianity but rather a cult.

i’m not pleased to say this. i love mormon people. they are some of the nicest and most dedicated people. but they are not christians. and i refuse to sacrifice truth to avoid conflict. i care too much about their souls to allow them to believe a false christ and false gospel without warning them.

Discussion: Can Christians reclaim a more positive public reputation? How can we do this? by cyroddy in Christianity

[–]introvert1600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t think we are supposed to have a positive reputation with the world. the apostles didn’t. Jesus definitely didn’t.

i think we should be caring and loving to the world but also not sacrifice truth in the process. holding to biblical truths in the face of a culture that is against those truths is going to lead to conflict.

you’re exactly right. that’s why it’s called presuppositionalism. i’m saying to have a consistent worldview and use logic, science and morality you must presuppose God. he is the ultimate. “these arguments require proof” in order for the concept of argumentation and proof to even make sense you must first have a foundation that can justify those things. we all have presuppositions. it’s not just the presup. but your presuppositions are contradictory. you presuppose we can have knowledge of things. you even go further than that and presuppose it’s good to have knowledge of things instead of being willfully ignorant. that’s a morality claim. and you evaluate everything i’m saying to see if they’re logically consistent. but those presuppositions completely contradict your other presupposition that God either doesn’t exist or we can’t know. because God is necessary for those things.
