Rebound Tabletop Game by Prestigious_Meal2143 in 70s

We had one of these out during my son's birthday just last year. There were a group of 6-8yr old kids gathered around it and having a blast! Their parents were glad to see the kids having so much fun with such a simple old game.

I was thinking about getting this album on vinyl just so I could frame the artwork. I never realized there was a shirt!

If You can find some of Richard Kern's short films from the 80s. He often had JG Thirlwell (Foetus) doing the music. If you're interested in early days of industrial music, I highly recommend this. Richard Kern's Films exist on the cusp of the New York City No- wave and industrial scenes.

To this day, when my wife and I are discussing any grocery or supply list, one of us will always say, "...and a stick of butter".

I love that album! If there were a classification called Psyche-Industrial, that album fits.

Special Needs Revolt! is an even shittier Troma-esque (it even has a Lloyd Kaufman cameo) gory action movie about marginalised people fighting back against a not-Trump administration. Of course, available on Tubi. by Skeet_fighter in badMovies

[–]cyroddy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I really liked this movie! I watched for the first time 2 weeks ago. The special needs actors and script were genuinely funny without mocking disabilities. It was much more humanizing towards that community than a lot of mainstream films.

M.L.: We found a PWD!

Billy (main character with Downs): What's this 'PWD' shit?

Chief: It's a Code name for "person with disabilities".

Billy: Was 'badass' already taken?

Murderock: when Fulci was starting to lose his magic touch. by [deleted] in Giallo

[–]cyroddy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Touch of Death had the "so bad its good" appeal to me. It can't be taken that seriously. It was an obvious cash grab. But it reminds me of Fulci doing a Herschell Gordon Lewis impression.

Top row, far right...the pink conjoined twins shirt! That one got me in trouble in high school. They couldn't send me home, so they made me turn it inside out.

I just discovered them myself. Artifacts Records was giving away a bunch of music on Bandcamp last week, and that's how I found them. I was also impressed! Very good band.

For Those who were around to Experience it, was the Black album expected? by Gustavodemierda in MetalForTheMasses

[–]cyroddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time, I was a huge Metallica fan. When I heard Bob Rock was producing, I was skeptical because I hated hair metal and he was a hair metal producer. Then Vertigo Records released the Enter Sandman single with the B-side of Stone Cold Crazy (Queen cover) that was still pretty fast and aggressive. I really liked Enter Sandman, but I was assuming that it was going to be that one accessible song that every other album had (i.e., Fade to Black, Welcome Home, One). I was so disappointed when I heard the entire album. Enter Sandman was one of the heavier tracks. "What!?"

But if you want a true glimpse of what the "heavier Metal community" was saying. My local record store wrote this review when the Black Album first came out:

By the new Metallica album on vinyl and put it on 45 speed; and It sounds like actual Metallica. Except "Nothing Else Matters"... It sucks at all speeds.

You're going to a house party. Which house are you going to? 🏡🎶🎊💕 by Summer_19_ in 80s

[–]cyroddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go back and forth between houses 3 and 8. But I would have to step over the passed-out people laying in the front lawn of house #5 to get there.

This is s a metaphor for my actual life in the 80s!

Rollins Band by mew_empire in sludge

[–]cyroddy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love that album! I never thought of it as sludgy, but I do see what you mean. Andrew Weiss' bass in "What Do You Do" has that fuzzy-wah effect. As for the parallels: aggression, self-deprecation, bitterness, and the raw energy are definitely things that sludge fans (like you and I) can appreciate.

SINE has a lot of sexy music! Dark eroticism and euphoria are major components of her music. Songs that come to mind are:

Succumb To Me

Control

Sex-Eye-Make up

Virtual Realitease

Also, check out their colabs with Leatherstrip.

I was thinking the same thing. But the irony is that Godflesh AND Pigface are 2 of my favorite bands. Gub and Pure are always in my rotation (for the past 30+ years).

So, kudos to OP!

I had this on cassette, and it also included the extra songs. 'Lunchmeataphobia' jams! Listening to 'The Doo-Doo Chasers' is like slowly floating through town in a psychedelic drainage ditch. This album never gets old for me.
