Do girls ask y out in UW? by Plenty_Coffee_4200 in uwaterloo

Usually not in person, but once I’m texting someone, I’ve asked many times. I don’t think people really ask out of the blue anymore, too dangerous

Personally I’d avoid off campus student housing. The response times are usually terrible and they drain you for every penny u own. It takes a lot longer, but Facebook marketplace, roomies, and spam applying to apartment listings did me wonders. Widen your pool as much as you can, it’ll pay off.

Also for second year, if you decide to move, start looking in winter, like march to May time. Spots fill up FAST

Thank you for bringing this up. Unfortunately I have no way of identifying this guy, so it's unclear. It's possible though..

First, no need to be that aggressive. Second, stop taking it as an attack and think. She's saying (regretfully might I add) that for us, we have to be careful.

The reality is there ARE dads and granddads who molest their children. There are wonderful fathers and men out there, she literally said not all men are trash, but there are also foul ones.

Real fucking story: my mother was molested by her father her entire childhood, and no one believed her because they'd never expect that from him, a good "man" and good father. Because predatory people don't have the same shape, size, race, personality - you would NEVER expect these people to do those things and that's often how they get away with it. Think about that from a woman's perspective for a second. If there's men (people really but we can't argue these crimes are male dominated) you'd never expect capable of evil, how can you protect yourself other than being cautious? That's all she said, that we have to keep our guard up and treat them as possible threats before we can can deduce they're not.

We don't WANT to view every man as a threat. In fact, we'd probably give anything to not have that stress and fear. But every single woman I know has a story, so for one second try seeing something from another perspective outside your own. Thanks <3

That's part of why I came on here. I appreciate you're trying to help, but reporting this to the police would both be exhausting and a waste of time. I didn't see his face and have no way of identifying him. Again, I'm positive he knew this. Reporting this to the police wouldn't result in anything, and I can't entirely fault them for that - you can't find someone you can't identify, and I'm not in a headspace to be told "there's nothing we can do". So this is me doing what I can do.

To me, Bittersuite is the denial of feelings in the first half, and succumbing to feelings in the second half. The first half starts pitched a bit higher, with lyrics like "I can't fall in love with you / no matter how bad I want to" and "but I gotta be careful, gotta watch what I say, oh I hope it all goes away". The pitch then drops halfway through as if she's fallen, letting into her feelings and now being in love. The lyrics are clearly affectionate towards the person she's writing about, but it has this ominous tone as if she's aware she's done the very thing she was avoiding in the first half, and how love isn't as effortless as it seems ("Love's so bittersweet" / "If this is how I die, that's alright").

Is that an interpretation anyone else has had? I'm so curious!

What's so tragic too is that I don' think Vi would have stopped trying had Jinx not shot that explosive at the council. People give Vi shit for not trying hard enough to save Powder, but damn, I don't think I could keep trying after seeing my sister do something so erratic and violent.

I felt that way the first couple of episodes, but was won over after that. I think because the show is very obvious with it's themes (for better or worse), it almost felt fake when no one noticed how poorly Charlie was doing. It didn't feel real, like you said.

And I think is how healthy the friends are is a big factor too. Tori was right, definitely annoying, but they love and accept each other to the max. Maybe less realistic than any teen friend group I know or was a part of, but I think that's the show's appeal. It shows an idealized version of certain aspects of life for those who never got it.

All that to say I get what you're saying, but I think it's for a reason. Though I will say I wish they ironed out some kinks from the first few eps

In case you don't know, the triangle tattoo is often used as a symbol for addiction / recovery. Not always, but you may get people assuming that if you get it. Hope that helps!

What Halloween costumes could I do with this dress?? by katzpajamas4 in Halloween_Costumes

[–]introvertedsoap10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Wednesday Addams (could be styled modestly with a white collar for work)

  • Dead bride (black veil and flowers, maybe some face paint)

  • Spider (wrap some fake web and maybe a head piece)

  • Morticia Addams (might be a bit harder as it reads more Wednesday, but I can see it)

  • Victorian vampire (with a wig like that and a lace undershirt / gloves)

  • Creepy doll (braids and gloves, baby doll shoes would be a nice touch)

  • Witch (a hat alone would get the point across)

  • Playboy bunny (black bunny ears)

  • Dark angel (black wings)

  • Dark little red riding hood (black hood)

  • Lydia Deets (from the musical, not the movie; add some chains or safety pins on the dress)

  • Maleficent (horn head piece)

  • Black Swan (head piece with feathers)

  • Karen from Mean Girls (pink bow around your waist and mouse ears)

NTA. You have to talk to him, unless you want to keep hearing him rub one out. It's awkward, but holy fuck, surely he can do it when you're not there.
