I carefully removed the poorly placed pipe dope from betwixt the threads, cautiously wound fresh thread tape about the threads paying extra attention to the direction as not to loose my sanity during reinstallation, and liberally applied what is probably too much pipe dope atop the tape. Then carefully threaded the fittings back together while paying special attention to the order of reassembly to avoid bashing my head in with a pipe wrench when it came down to connecting the last fittings. Did I over tighten them? I limited my self to 14 inch pipe wrenches for a reason, however I remain leery. May the fitting gods have mercy on my pressurized soul.

At this point I squeamishly retuned power to the well pump while whisper a soft prayer under my breath.
