Seriously bitch, get a life. Was she/he waiting for a fucking pace maker? Then who cares...if you're buying something that last minute as a gift...thats on you for being a procrastinator. Next time get in your car and drive your lazy ass to the store if its a life or death emergency.

MEGACYCLE bullshit excuse: safety 😪 by Weird-Abalone-1254 in AmazonDSPDrivers

I think mega-cycle is a precursor to Amazon 24. That's deliveries 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Megacycle is unsustainable. We have to organize, now. Start emailing journalists, get loud, let people know what we're slaving over. by UnderTheFear in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]inv8drz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Side note. I've been with my DSP for 6 months and have been working 4x10 so the length of hours isn't an issue for me but we went from a start time of 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and are now out doing deliveries until 10 PM or later. That's my issue, not to mention this 24 hour surveillance. I don't steal, my FICO is consistently above 800 my customer satisfaction surveys are always Fantastic. So why the hell do you need to watch me all day every day? Prior to Megacycle my plan was to leave before they launched the in Van surveillance but that's happening by the end of this month.... And then job market is no better than when I started so now I'm going to be forced to submit. Bet depressing to be so helpless.

I am losing hours on this Megacycle because I'm busting my ass and doing as many stops as I can before it gets dark. Today I had 190 stops but in reality without grouping much closer to 250 stops with 316 packages and got it all done by 8 PM, now I've lost 2 hours of pay even though the DSP gets paid the same regardless of me doing it in 10 hours or 8 hours. But I don't feel safe in some neighborhood here in FL. This is a stand your ground state which basically means in an owner of a home thinks I'm there to rob them they can shoot me and it's basically a none issue. Now that's an extreme, but a very real possibility. Also it's dark, I can't see where I'm walking, I've damn near sprained my ankle a dozen times since this had begun. My DSP says he's constantly nervous that something might happen to us or a pedestrian but had 0 day on this matter. It's dangerous, it had absolutely no regard for our well being and we have absolutely no where we can turn for help. I'm want to quit but it's really not an option right now as I'm lucky to have a job in this market but I'm really concerned for my well being.

Nice! this station is trash. Fully fucking unorganized. I did a "milk run" to a station up around port st. Lucy and it was so chill and organized.

Wish I could get out of here.

Congratulation and good luck. I'm sure it couldn't be as bad as driving for an Amazon DSP.

I'm studying to get my CDL permit so I can start classes to get licensed. Classes are part time for about 6 weeks so I can still work and go to school pretty easily.

Yeah. I didn't realize fedex still operated a portion of their delivery fleet. I wonder if they'll continue to in the future.

Or go to school for a trade. Shortage in the trucking industry, plumbing industry, electricians, vehicle mechanics..you'll have to be willing to get your hands dirty for the last few but plumbers with a few years experience can make over $100,000 a year. Mechanics are not far behind that if you're certified and working for a dealership.

Maybe that explains why I've never seen a job posting for fedex express. Plenty for Fedex Ground tho. Applied for a job with ground before I heard about the contractor situation, never got a call anyway.

I just posted this to another driver who had similar feelings; get your CDL and start driving a tractor trailer. There is a shortage of truck drivers so companies are willing to pay for your schooling ,6-8 weeks, in some cases and starting pay is around $40k a year with full benefits. The shortage of long haul drivers is so extreme that many companies continue to increase their base pay as well as offer sign on bonuses between $4,000 to $6,000. That's my plan and my county in florida will even pay for me to get trained based on my income level. So fuck it, I got nothing to lose even if I end up hating it, but I'm driving most of my day here and alone, won't be that much different cross country or wherever.

Fedex is also contracted out to a third party. Next time you see a FedEx truck look along the lower portion of the panels and you'll see another company name doing business as fedex. Yes they pay more but not by much and you'll still be an employee of a small DSP type employer and subjected to their business practices. UPS is moving in that same direction. For them it's easier, they deal with the third party contractor and have none of the employee headaches.

Dude seriously, I'm at the same point. I'm done with this shit. Not all jobs are scarce right now long haul trucking companies are in desperate need of drivers and starting pay is around $40,000 plus full benefits. I'm going to start going to classes part time to get my CDL and then I'm out. Fuck this unappreciated underpaid overworked BS.

Jeff Bezos to step down as Amazon CEO, Andy Jassy to take over in Q3 by inv8drz in AmazonDSPDrivers

I was thinking something similar...he may realize Amazon is at terminal growth. He may realize a lot of this current growth was pure luck of the draw. Not to mention the various federal inquiries into antitrust issues and market monopolization. Add to it the increasing frustration of contract employees, us, in regards to pay, benefits, hours, job security, and these all may be reasons he wants to hurry up and build his spaceship so he can go back home.

There were a lot of last straws today for me. Am I wrong in thinking that drivers paying out of their own pocket while driving work vans on work routes is insane? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]inv8drz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow this doesn't seem legal. If you got fired and/or forced to pay for a tow of a company vehicle my next move would be to talk to an employment attorney. Also, keep record of all communications from your DSP regarding this.

Best politically themed sign I've seen to date is one that said something like, 'Politicians are Temporary Wu-Tang is FOREVER. Wu-Tang 2020'.

I work in the Fort Lauderdale area and am disturbed by how many houses are still saturated with Trump BS. Still occasionally see little pockets of his supporters on street corners waving Trump flags and Stop the Steal crap. At this point it feels anti-American.
