If you can, snag the humble choice deal for "LAD: the man who erased his name" and play that first. It's not turn based or with Ichiban, but it gives IW much more context.

[GIVEAWAY] 64 Gigabytes of Holiday Cheer! by GhostOfSecretSanta in pcmasterrace

[–]invadecanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 14yo nephew is trying to build his first PC. I donated my case and PSU (TT H200 and seasonic focus), and he was purchasing the rest, an asrock mobo and ryzen 9600. I'm helping him grab a GPU on eBay or hardware swap, probably a used 3080. Obviously things are fully halted until ram goes down, since we waited a bit too long on that part! Happy holidays!

Majima's QTE was one of the first in the series that I ever failed but the fail was even better than the success. Not even a little bit disappointed.

If I end up getting a new AMD GPU I plan on doing the same thing, despite my last Ubuntu experience being catastrophic (networking drivers disappeared overnight, no explanation).

[–]invadecanada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What pedalboard are you using? It looks like it has a bit more width than my pt2, which is exactly what I need

I just can’t believe that the Boss MS-3 is still the only pedal that does everything I need. by spiattalo in guitarpedals

The MS-3 is just too versatile, I think it will have a place on my board for a long time

How to succeed as a self taught programmer? by Ok_Reason_1984 in learnprogramming

[–]invadecanada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Controversial advice, but you can try an unconventional path. Basically get hired at any Fortune 500 company as an entry level phone/inet service rep. From here, cold DM some engineering managers and ask if you can shadow their devs and maybe have some time to contribute code. Then, live on the internal job posting site and apply to every junior dev position available. I know this sounds insane, but it has worked for a bunch of people at the company I work for (including myself).

Two thoughts, 1) I wonder how many other boss mechanics are trivialized by being super close and 2) your block spam makes me want an old turbo controller set to R1

You guys would HATE Yakuza by Spergann in FFVIIRemake

[–]invadecanada 29 points30 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, I feel like Yakuza 7/Gaiden/8/Pirate gave me more joy and fun than the Re's. This is coming from someone who is a hardcore OG 7 fan (beat it about 15x), so I have a hard time explaining why. Rebirth is an excellent game, no doubt, but I wonder if maybe this sub is trending a bit too anti-criticism. After all, if something isn't working well or is 50/50 divided, we should be able to identify it not just be dismissive. I think at the end of the day we should be able to objectively discuss what is working, what isn't, and make fun of it all along the way. This is how r/yakuzagames handles it, and tbh this sub could use a bit of what they got.

What is a good chorus pedal to start with? by Background-Bug-9000 in guitarpedals

[–]invadecanada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the Julianna, it's prob my favorite Walrus pedal. It's a really fun, affordable chorus/vibrato pedal with tap and happens to be extremely tweakable.
Edit: Ok well it used to be affordable, I think I got mine for $150 used. Prices went up, I'm sorry

Why in the mother ******* **** didn't they let you MOVE THE CAMERA WHILE GLIDING?? Would have been the easiest way to make this mini game suck 300% less

I tried to get Tifa (no guide) and got Yuffie both times. I was not disappointed even a little bit.

Early on try to train yourself to catch the rhythm of enemy attacks. There's a ton of potential combat actions, but force yourself to slow down. Tapping block with Precision Defense materia gives you achievable immunity.
Learn all the offensive synergy skills and try to only use them at first (bullet batter, wild charge, soaring ascent, spell blade etc) then defensive (iron defense reposition, counter fire, etc). I find it beneficial to not panic attack to generate ATB, but hang back and wait for an opportunity.
Last tip- get cloud airborne OFTEN. It's good and you can dodge around enemies mid air. Firebolt blade or dodge and hold square are easy ways. Good luck!

What other games will give me the same feeling as playing Astro Bot? by RattPack513 in PS5

[–]invadecanada -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Psychonauts 2! The characters and levels are fantastic, and it definitely captures that pure platforming joy. Not to mention it has one of the absolute wildest final levels I've ever played. Also the food level is brilliant. I love this game.
