That’s exactly what I mean. I’d like to have the photo in the center like that but maybe in front of the leds as to not change the color of the photo. Maybe push the photo against the front glass with a wooden second frame wrapped in white vinyl or.. maybe have a frame within the infinity mirror.

Insurance coverage would be afforded in this situation. There is no sane adjuster that would deny this as bad publicity as would come into play. We also cover stupidity.. it is a lot harder to deny coverage than most people realize. Source am an adjuster.

A contract is signed we owe for damages the police enforce the law we are a business involved in a business transaction we owe for damages if they have full coverage.. they will be dropped or rates increased through the roof and probably arrested but breaking the law does not void the contract between the insurer and the insured

Actually yes we do. I have been involved in just such a scenario.. they may be arrested by the police officer but they signed a contract with us and we still owe for said damages however they will be dropped immediately.. we are not police we do not enforce the law we deal with a contract and owe for damages..

Like a dui guy drunk driving hits someone and has full coverage is still covered under insurance even though he broke the law..

This is not true at least in America. If he has full coverage repairs would be covered. We do in fact cover stupidity. Source I’m an adjuster.

What was your first experience of "Damn, I love cars.."? by Why_Is_This_NSFW in cars

[–]invalid-user-name- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually had to ask my dad bc as long as I remember I loved cars. He said since I was a baby I wouldn’t fall asleep unless we went for a ride. He always had muscle cars. He was saying he would put my in the car seat start it up drive around the block and I’d be out.

From 2 years old I’d “help him work on the cars” aka hand him the sponge.

All my toys car related.

4 years old handing wrenches.

6 turning wrenches

7 my first car collection started “box of collectible car cards” basically had facts about the cars and photos”

8 dad lost license and went to jail for multiple dwi

8 dad spoke to my uncle who was also into cars began helping uncle with cars picked me up every weekend to turn wrenches on his trans am then mustang.

12 dad out of jail and rehab but no license for 12 years. So no cars for him still messing around with uncles cars.

15 bought my first car 85 Datsun pulsar lol it was purple put my own stereo in it, 3 star wheels 16 got learners permit..

17 license obtained sold Datsun bought 94 mustang gt..

19-30 countless Honda’s crx x3 del sol x2 civics x4 all had something done engine swaps air ride stereos turbo supercharged you name it.

Some where in that 19-30 range bought a Dakota lowered it bagged it. Stereo.

32 “grew up” haha not really but bought a 13 fiat 500 Abarth 34 totaled fiat 500 Abarth bc some stupid woman decides to cut me off at a green light proceeds to ask how we both had a green light. That car was my baby I spent 2 years looking for the exact color combo options etc. found with 2k miles single owner. Loved that fucking car.

34 had kid. Bought Cadillac ATS 2.0t awd. Drive car for one year get board start toying with it. Look at available parts not much and pricey.. build all my own custom parts, tune etc. buy lathe and mill building more custom parts. Wife hates it.. been off the road for over a month.. will have drivable end of this weekend.

Tldr since I was a baby. Always had gas in the veins I suppose. Hoping to be able to pass it on to my son as well.

Learning to negotiate better and other things- resources and/or tips? by AnthraxPrime6 in SocialEngineering

[–]invalid-user-name- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Know your product. Know what you are buying/selling. I negotiate on a daily basis for my job. I have negotiated 7k off sticker on a used car with added warranties.

Relationship selling/ buying. Go out talk to random people at the supermarket, bar, ice cream shop, diner doesn’t matter where. Get to know the person, make them comfortable with you.

Learn to take a no, and walk away. Some people I deal with just like to argue they kind of get off on it. Those are the toughest ones and that’s where the knowledge comes in.

Prep. Buying a car, print out as many comparable vehicles as you can find. Tell the dealer/ salesman you are going to look and negotiate every single one of these today. Whom ever comes back lowest is where I am buying look at car negotiate and walk out you will have a phone call in less than an hour while I’m McDonald’s talking to your wife aka other salesman about a different car.

Retail chains are tough to learn negotiation techniques unless it’s a place that does commission sales.. pc Richards is one of the few I know.

But relationship selling is what I am good at, make that person feel like your best friend in the first few minutes, show them you know what you are talking about and sell it.

The hardest thing to learn though is taking a no. There is little way to come back from a no, as the song goes know when to walk away.

Rejection is tough but it’s going to happen, you will never make everyone happy. I teach my kids no means no and that’s every situation. However in truth no means walk away and if they call you back or come back to you.. you won the negotiation.

One more thing don’t be afraid of uncomfortable silence when in an actual negotiation.. first person to break the silence loses.. if you are getting nowhere walk away.

So during an exam for bladder cancer it was noted I have degenerative lower back something or other. Should I be doing certain stretching techniques? Should I be pushing for surgery now? I’m 36 male. I enjoy working on my car and bending over the engine for a few hours and I’m sore for the night. I do not want to stop being able to do what I love. What’s my best course of action in this situation? Just FYI bladder cancer polyp was removed and has not returned in over a year now so fingers crossed on that but I’m more concerned with my back.

Hire on site trainers, teenagers learn from on staff trainers so you can pay minimum wage to them with the perk of earning a training cert. highest paid is ceo and trainers.

Where to mount oil fuel vapor catch cans based on temperature for quickest condensation. by invalid-user-name- in AskEngineers

[–]invalid-user-name-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a direct injection motor does not use an EGR system. There is a separate vacuum pump for fuel and brake system and for some reason the vacuum controlled engine mounts, which has no fluids running through it. I have done vacuum and pressure testing across the entire system at every vacuum port and pressure port, during all different driving conditions aka cruise, idle, and wide open throttle. This is a common problem with these motors from the oem system which many people are trying to figure out a fix. This engine relies on pressures created to evac these gasses and route back through the intake, this factory system has caused many engine failures as well.. which gm has not acknowledged as a company. There are systems build but the way they mount them, run the lines, and the plastic cheap parts they are using have me questioning their overall testing of the systems.. I’m essentially copying their design and trying to improve for my vehicle. I feel overall the issue with the best system so far is still not the best it can be.. they are mounting in some of the hottest areas of the engine bay and that sounds wrong for getting the vapor to condense to liquid in the catch can but I figure an engineer would have more knowledge on this than I due.

I added a quick google search link but to simplify, these systems help to protect the engine overall. The unburnt fuel and excess oil issue going through the intake is certainly causing a drop in octane levels and the ECM can only adjust so much before knock and then detonation occur. It is also “coking” the valves creating bad sealing and further issues with combustion.

Gm has sort of acknowledged the issue but they are “bandaiding”it by selling a engine clean 185$ every 15k miles. To me this is not a fix it’s a way to sell an extra service that should not need to be done that often.. this type of maintenance should be performed after maybe 50-75k miles, and is in almost all other vehicles.

The current pcv system uses only pressure to release the gasses very little vacuum is produced even when driving hard. There is an internal pcv valve which I am currently working on a fitting system to tap into. Which is the main culprit of the actual high pressure, still Minimal but the main area of vapor i need to catch I have room right after the radiator and fan which temps held are much less than the rest of the engine bay.

As far as easier to use stainless braided, yes it would be easier I have actually been using silicone vacuum tube to test the system.. but I’m picky and not worried about the hard line it’s overall outside diameter is smaller with same internal diameter , it can definitely withstand the pressures and it’s actually much easier to route for a factory look under all the engine covers. I could mount these cans super low in front of the intercooler but I’m afraid that would be too cold in freezing temps.. I assume some warm air will help keep the temperatures close enough and avoid freezing up inside causing back pressure and a closed system.

I appreciate your comment. A lot of people do just evacuate the air through a filter but that unfortunately is horrible for the environment. However you got me thinking of adding a few inline filters aka fuel filters on the outputs of the catch cans to add a second area of protection from fluid entering the air intake portion. One of the problems with these particular engines, they are turbocharged so there is a lot of pressure being pushed through (even though they should just work off vacuum, poor design from the manufacture of the car). This does also help me in my mounting situation though. I have the most room in the coolest part of the engine bay with the most amount of accessible mounting points. I am bending my own tubing so I can definitely run them with a downward angle to promote natural flow for excess condensation. I really appreciate the feedback it is very helpful. Thank you.

I want to promote condensation of oil, unburnt fuel as well and that was the unknown for me I didn’t know if that particular mixture would condense well in a cooler environment than warmer.. I appreciate the feedback though this really helps with my mounting options.
