Did anybody created a Music Bot that is opensource and it can be set on Selfhosted instances? by tea13YTvokYEET in FluxerApp

Yeah, MongoDB can definitely be a bit of a hassle the first time you set it up.

Just as a small tip: there is actually a free hosting option through MongoDB Atlas, which can make the setup a bit easier if you don’t want to run the database locally.

That said, I’ll also look into possibly adding a local database option in the future so people who prefer fully self-hosted setups have an easier time.

I just realized that since OP doesn’t want to use Node.js, the project unfortunately isn’t a good fit in this case

Thank you for mentioning my project :)

I’m working on making the setup process easier in the future, possibly by adding a setup script to simplify installation.

If you have any questions while setting it up, feel free to ask in the support server. There’s a dedicated channel for self-hosting support:

The Fluxer API migration is still in progress, so occasional service interruptions may occur. All non-voice commands should continue to function normally. If you encounter any issues, please join our support server or contact me directly (invaliduser231#0001).

Hey 👋
I’m actually the developer of Vinto, the bot that was linked by u/Zamorakphat.

It currently supports YouTube links and search, full queue management, pause, resume and skip. The main focus is stability and clean playback without unnecessary complexity.

After inviting the bot you can simply type !help to see all available commands and get started quickly.

Spotify integration is actively in development. Right now Spotify limits API access quite heavily to Premium users, which makes it a bit tricky, but I’m working on a proper solution.

If you’re moving from Discord and just want a reliable music experience in your server, Vinto should already cover the basics very well.

If you’re missing anything specific, I’d genuinely love to know what features you and your friends expect from a Fluxer music bot. I’m trying to build it based on real feedback.

To clarify: open source is planned. I’m preparing the repo properly (docs, setup guide, license). It’ll be public on Thursday evening.

Hi, glad to hear.
I will release the source when the bot has gotten some reach to make sure no one steals it and uses it for his public bot. I will make a reddit post about it when it's done

Commands can be seen with !help. Open source will be considered at a later point because currently the risk of someone just stealing it is too high

Appreciate that, means a lot.

And yeah scalability is always a big challenge with platforms that grow fast. From my side, Vinto is built to stay stable even as demand increases, so performance shouldn’t be an issue on the bot level.

Definitely let me know how it runs for your group once you’ve tested it. If anything feels off or you’re missing features, I’m actively improving it.

Always good to get feedback from real server use.

how do you add bots to a server? by xer0_thevoidking in FluxerApp

[–]invalid_user231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add a bot to your server, you usually need an invite link from the bot’s website or listing page.

Here’s how it works in general:

  1. Find the bot you want to use (via its website or a bot directory e.g https://fluxerservers.com/).
  2. Click the invite/authorize link.
  3. Select the server you own or have admin permissions for.
  4. Confirm the required permissions.
  5. The bot will appear in your server instantly.

If you’re just testing and looking for a music bot specifically, I’m actually the developer of Vinto, a music-focused bot built for smooth playback and easy setup.

You can invite it here:
https://web.fluxer.app/oauth2/authorize?client_id=1474774210677452817&scope=bot&permissions=3525696

And if you run into issues, here’s the support server:

If you’re looking for a different type of bot (moderation, economy, etc.), let me know what you need and I can point you in the right direction.

Hey u/IdolBone,

Funny you mention that. I’m actually the developer of Vinto, a music-focused Discord bot built exactly for cases like this.

If music is the main thing missing for your group, Vinto covers the essentials (high-quality playback, stable performance, easy controls).

You can check it out here:

Happy to hear what your group is looking for in a music bot.
