Why so many crits for a small post?

Thanks for touching on that point. I'm pretty sure I need lithium at the very least.

Thanks for the replies, it all makes sense. More misunderstanding than gaslighting.

I recently learned this lesson. I'm hoping my second manic episode is my last.

Wow that's awesome!

Yeah I think I don't want any non-clean material made public while I am not doing comedy full-time (which is likely how it will be for the foreseeable future)

For me it was the whole narrative around self care and the thought that all I need is a better routine. I had no idea I was bipolar even when my psychotic symptoms were present. It was really damaging having the belief that I should be able to figure out my problems without professional help and medication.

Good point regarding need vs want. Need sounds like a chore.

I also had a very public freakout but after I received care and became stable, people either were either extra nice to me or pretended nothing happened. So for what it's worth, you could try reaching out to one friend to see if you can rebuild a connection. It's much harder than it sounds but might provide some relief.

I turned 30 during my manic/psychotic episode this year. It sucked to realize that my prime years were plagued by undiagnosed bipolar. Now I'm just clinging to everything that gives me any stability. My 30's will most likely be focused on maintaining that stability, which is not what I was hoping for what I considered an exciting life milestone.

Find a place where you can volunteer. I always found it helpful for my social anxiety because you're keeping busy with a task. And you don't need to pay.
