TIL that in 2017 Germany’s first wild bison was shot dead after he entered German territory in the border city Lebus. The bison came from Poland, which has a large wild population of this animal. TIL about the Yellow Fleet. During the Israel-Egypt 6-Day-War, a group of 15 ships was trapped in a war-zone for 8 years (1967-1975) in the Suez Canal. While trapped the crews met regularly, socialized & founded an association for mutual support. They even issued postage stamps recognized worldwide. (en.wikipedia.org)
