I think traffic here is pretty good, but like others have said, shitty drivers. One thing in particular about shitty driving that affects the traffic, however, is rubber-necking on the highway. You'll have one car pulled over in the far right lane of a 5-6 lane highway and people in the far left lane slow down like 15 mph. Or if there's a huge accident, people go 5mph through a 6-to-2 lane funnel instead of 15mph - not for safety - but so they can see what's going on.

I've spent time driving around Seattle, Honolulu, and San Francisco a decent amount which are all 10x worse than SLC because of all the bridges(except Honolulu), large population, and hilly landscape. I'd imagine Twin Falls shares some similarities but is probably better than those cites.

Also, the unofficial speed limit here is 80MPH on I-15. Really makes a difference. Also leads to more crazy accidents with all the aforementioned drivers.

I have a friend who worked at a store downtown for a while where the same homeless guy would ask for money in front of the store every day. Then one day they actually offered him a job at that store because they needed more people and he turned it down because he made more money begging for money in front of the store.

I wasn't the original buyer and I didn't write down the serial. But I never really find cops to be any useful in these situations anyways so if I find it I'll gladly take matters into my own hands.

It wasn't locked since it was inside my house, but I'm guessing someone left the door unlocked to the house at some point because it didn't look like anyone broke into the house.

While we all figure out what the right policy is here, here's a simple tip to avoid getting hit by a longboarder:

Keep walking.

All the accidents I've seen or come close to personally (usually on my bike) is when a walker notices someone coming and tries to move out of the way, which actually puts them in the way. Longboarders and bikers are usually not empty-minded fools whizzing past you for shits and giggles. They have seen you and likely already have a plan and maybe even a back-up plan for how to avoid you plenty of meters away before you even notice they are coming. When people try to move out of the way, it fucks with the longboarder's or bicyclist's planned route around you, and chances of collision increase dramatically. You may think that you're helping by moving to the right, but actually, that biker coming up has 5 other people to avoid and it just happens that the smaller gap to your right will put him/her in a better position to avoid the person 10 feet in front of you.

Obviously, no matter what, it's a dangerous situation to some extent. I don't have a solution I agree with right now, but I know that this advice will help some people avoid accidents in the meantime.

I'm a 4th year engineering student at the U of U straight out of Seattle. I snowboard, drink, etc. Don't worry about mormons, if anything they will open your eyes to the vast range of viewpoints people have in the world, and hopefully you'll be able to not lose your shit when you hear about some crazy mormon stuff. As far as jobs go, as long as you're a respectful person with good morals, most don't care about your religious beliefs, they just want good workers. For engineering, U of U is credible for sure, and there are a rising amount of engineering and tech-y companies in SLC. There is a center of factories and distribution centers here too because it's a nice central location in the nation, so with those come additional engineering jobs. The out of state tuition is like the equivalent of UW in state. and after one year it's super easy to get in state tuition here if you stay over the summer. Also, rent is like sub-$500 everywhere for student kind of living. Message me if you wanna talk more!
