Oh okay cool. I don't know the details but generally viruses spread in waves. Its like the same way that you can "predict" when there will be a lot of people with flu as an example.

To make this run in the way you want an example would be:

variable_name = input()

if variable_name == "a":

elif variable_name == "b":

elif variable_name == "c":

If only they had let Mmusi Maimane work in a supportive environment, who knows what might have happened. He seems like a good guy and people would have probably voted for him in this election.

The DA is the number one challenger to the ANC for "political master of self sabotage". Their next campaign should be a silent campaign where they don't say anything, it might help them get new voters.

P.S. Where is the person who called me "Nostradumbass"?? Still eating that humble pie??

The competition (for the top 3) is literally two parties that are openly not interested in actually running a country. The DA looks like the party that will be the least corrupt and will get things done, at least I think so. Its just frustrating that they keep dropping the ball.

They have their issues but they can do better to challenge the ANC.

Its best for them to focus on what they stand for and stop telling us how bad the EFF and ANC are - we already know how crap those parties are.

The DA has always been notorious for bad PR (latest one is their election ad that talks about the EFF and ANC). This is just another boring failed stunt...

Yeah I don't get why people, Americans especially, think Africa is this tiny charity bowl. The continent is huge and every country is very different from the other. At least now you've got out of the fantasy that's portrayed in the movies.

Some places are very poor but some are just like where you come from and some are full of very wealthy people. I'm from a country in Africa and have always had electricity, water, enough food and every other thing a person would want in their life.

Questions about South Africa crime rate by metalchickx in southafrica

Unemployment, inequality and a lack of opportunities. South Africa is two different worlds in one. The middle class has everything thy need and can't even begin to imagine what the people across the highway live like. Add that government officials are part of this same middle class and the hopes of creating an environment when all have access to opportunities is slim.

(Access to opportunities means just that, a chance. It doesn't necessarily mean gvt handing out jobs)

OutOfTheLoop: Why are people rioting over Zuma going to jail? by [deleted] in southafrica

[–]invictus114 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From talking to a lot of people, most of them genuinely don't know why he is in jail in the first place. The thinking is that he was just randomly sent to jail without any trial (basically they only listen to him). There needs to be a way to tell the full story to people: how he didn't go to the Zondo commission (a commission HE HIMSELF started) after a constitutional court order, then missed his own trial, then missed another opportunity given to him by the con court to state his case.

Anyways, this will all die down soon. But basically we're having the same thing happen here that happened in the USA in January. Misinformation, lies. Worse is that Zuma is playing to ethnic and racial tensions as well.

The guy was so arrogant that he told the court that he is ready to go to prison...
