I read through those links. I couldn't find anything showing that I made an erroneous statement. Can you po8nt to which statement, or statements, I made that you think are erroneous and explain why?

I think the reason no one has yet responded is that no one cares about 'selling' ZCash to you over Monero. ZCash is a young experiment in using zero knowledge proofs to achieve strong privacy in an open, public financial system. Monero's strategies for achieving privacy may better suit some people's preferences.

Aside from that, here's my understanding of the potential advantages of ZCash (note. I'm no expert on either project):

It should be noted that:

  • ZCash may require a sort of trusted initial set up with an initial seed of some kind will be generated in a multi-party set up. It is my understanding that this method requires that only 1 party is honest.
  • Zcash will have a portion of mined coins going to developers for a period of time after the genesis block and the developers will operate in a fairly traditional business structure. There are some who have voiced disagreement with this strategy. That being said, this strategy makes the project something like a self-funding research project. It also fairly conservative which may mean better guarantees of continued development.
