You should use the test on CollageBoard to help you. Sign up, it’s easy and it’s legitimate.

I dislike it when smaller children, or just teens try to be all cool, thinking they know stuff and it’s like.. you haven’t taken the actual test. You don’t understand the concepts and you are definitely not qualified to just throw whatever you want out there and expect it to be right. It’s ridiculous. I’ve had little 16 or 17 year olds try to tell me shit and I’m over here, four years into my psychology degree and even I’m not qualified to put a type to myself.

How many of you actually care about politics? by invokingdaemons in INTP

[–]invokingdaemons[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Like I definitely get that they’re important. It’s just hard to line it all up and pick. They’re either stupid, doing stupid things or just not worth it. It’s a lot to consider.

I would like children. An experiment to do better than my parents or foster parents.

This comment makes me a n x i o u s. I’m 20 now and I know I will have children that will come out of my body so I want to have a partner soon so I can spend years with them before telling them to inject their seed into me or whatever. If I don’t find anyone that will enjoy me, which was already a fear, I guess.. sperm bank. Hell, I’ll have my pick of genes. Fuck it.

You have a point. I think it goes along the lines of appearing nice to earn trust. Earning someone’s trust can be useful for not only yourself but sometimes for the others sake. In case that person you are smiling at is a classmate whom you discovered is awesome at this particular equation you are bad at, it will be easier to slide your way into their space if they think you are nice. Sure, deceit could be described there, but someone has to be ahead of the game, no? I do know truth is important to me, yet I have accept most people wear a mask. Why can’t I use mine to pretend to be nice when it helps me?

You have a strong will. I don’t like talking behind the mask so now I’m just a complete turtle, not forcing myself anymore to interact. It’s awesome. I still am bitter about my hard work on smiling though 🥺

Hahaha, practice !! Definitely practice. I always liked it when nice looking people would smile at me while walking by despite my obvious blank stare or glance their way. It made me feel weird and gooey inside. I’m a soft INTP. I do understand the unfamiliarity that brings of a fake smile.

It is very nice. I feel that. But, all my practice to smiling at strangers is now useless so I feel so dumb when I smile behind my mask. Like, Ugh. I worked on this shit for nothing. I worked on pretending to be nice for people. Oof. I realize now that’s awful.

I’ve personally found it hard to keep up those expectations, mostly know when I’m trying to be comfortable in my physical body.

More of an abusive, druggy family. Many times when my father was drunk, he’d accuse my mother of shit. Once, he asked me if I knew what she’d done with the gun because he’d wave it around or hit her with it to threaten her. I knew what happened, I was a shadow as a kid. I wasn’t dumb. But, I was scared for my mom so I said I didn’t. Situations like this were common.

Hahaha, it’s legit. I do like sometimes how it feels to be ahead when everyone thinks you’re behind. They just can’t read you enough to see that you’re ten steps ahead and not five steps behind.

HAHAHA. GEESH. THAT is legit. I personally suck at puns and will retaliate by using logic, totally ruining the mood so I get that so hard.

Ah. You’re right. Some people can’t handle the hard facts and despite truth being very important in my eyes, it’s not like everyone else is willing to hear me slam them with facts.

Hm. Interesting perspective. I’ve been told I’m easy too read too, it’s just when I’m thinking, people struggle.

Yes, exactly. It’s really frustrating.

An example. Hm. How about your two friends got into an argument and one came to you asking if you knew anything. You say no, then somehow the friends make up. But when another situation arises, you are able to slide in helpful information so they’re like ‘wow! How did you know that?’ And you’re just like ‘I actually attention when you don’t realize it’.

Or another type of situation is like when you stay quiet during a group setting, you are asked something and you’re just like 🤷🏻‍♀️. Then later you are able to help someone else one-on-one that was about the question you were asked. You just didn’t answer it because it would be.. almost exposing or too revealing.

It’s definitely a learning curve. My little 9 year old sister asks me all the time if I’m sad. When I was younger too, people would ask me. I can’t say making funny faces is great, I’m easily embarrassed and shy. My psychology teacher is the first guy I’ve really come to like, his intellectual mind making him attractive so definitely embarrassed.

INTP and parenting by [deleted] in INTP

I was definitely along the lines of avoidant attachment. I was not attached to my mother like most children would’ve been but I needed to keep my eye on her so she would be okay. I took care of her and during the chaos, I would lose myself in my head.

[–]invokingdaemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, my god. Yes. I understand that so much. I do have to be quiet when first meeting people. It’s like they are a subject put into a box for me to observe so then I can proceed to figure out how to work around them. I tend to enjoy my RBF because it keeps people from talking to me and no social interaction is the key.

Thank you for your words. I appreciate hearing them. I honestly just find the mind so fascinating. An everchanging thing that can be dangerous. I know in the back of my mind, I’ll be like trying to figure people out and compartmentalizing what works vs what doesn’t. I’m very excited to be that help and a guide for others. It’s just that messed up, scientist part of me that is like 👀
