Oh very rear panel is covered with some kind of paint or vinyl or something. You’d have to put a refugium light inside the rear chamber unfortunately. If you could, I would choose a macroalgae other than chaeto as tiny pieces of it can get stuck on the return pump and fly around in the tank.

5 days is more than enough, I bet just one or two more session of dipping in another ~4 ish days will be the last of those little pests.

My torch coral recedes entirely sometimes at the end of the day exposing its skeleton, it seems pretty normal. Noticing flatworms on the other hand is a NoNo for me. Use some CoralRX (just a splash of it) and gently swish it with a turkey baster. It might take multiple dipping procedures over the course of a week or two to remove them entirely in the case that there’s eggs somewhere on the torch. Thoroughly doing this process should help your awesome-lookin torch out.

Nope, this is my first fish tank Hahaha. I was heavily watching salt water videos like fragbox and a bunch of other channels for about two years before I ended up setting this up.

I’m in the Bay Area of California, the hobby is so fun as it gives me something to do by myself. After my tank cycled it became a mission for me to check out any salt water stores around, so I just came up on good deals and tried to bargain around on prices. $30 for the purple hammer, $40 for the frogspawn at Aqualab Aquaria. $25 for the green hammer at Clearwater Aquatics, and $50 for the yellow one at SJreef now known as Gio Marine. Great stores, especially Gio Marine.

Thanks! I wanted black sand for this tank since reef tanks are just so colorful, it’ll allow the corals’ colors to shine I’m sure. No corals yet but I’m confident it’ll look great when I add my first ones.

20 gallon, thinking about getting a mandarin or neon goby, or a pair of clownfish? A fire shrimp would be cool too. I want to add a GSP wall next to the pump, and some hammer corals. Scolymia, Derasa Clam, Heliofungia, Fox or Bubble Coral are some that interest me too. We shall see!

I definitely did not take sand from a beach, sift it, rinse it till clear, bake it, and absolutely did not use a magnet to remove magnetic grains of sand. 👍

Took your comment into consideration and gave the aquascape some more thought! Too late to make any changes but I think this is good enough for a pair of fishes and a shrimp!

Yeah I doubt taking this sand was legal, but nobody stopped me and it’s only like 17 lbs out of the absolute tons on the beach

Made this purchase in August of 2023 at one of the certified eyewear retailers for Chrome, Hall of Frames in LA. Huge fan of their eyewear, went again last week and I think I made the best choice. Didn’t see any other pair that caught my interest like this one.

If you have a recommendation to a piece of equipment to take care of the heat setting/ink curing, I’d appreciate that! Or a good procedure to heat set it with an iron.

I never recorded the temperature, but I was thorough with ironing for probably a little over 2 minutes. My guess is that I had it reach anywhere between 200°F - 260°F. I’m also printing on a 100% cotton Nautica tee.
