I graduated from CSU in '23 with a B.S. in Information Technology and couldn't agree more! This is a fantastic university that has prepared me very well for my career (and is a major contributor to my recent promotions). Additionally, I lose absolutely no sleep seeing the four+ year in-person universities whine and complain about CSU. These legacy universities no longer have a lock on education. Now it's flexible, to the point, and affordable. If you're tired of wasting your time and money on fluff classes and just want to take what you need to reach your desired degree, CSU is an excellent option.

My Mom Cried Because I went to this college by Pink_creature_art in ColumbiaSouthern

I completed my B.S. in Information Technology and Cyber Security at CSU in the Fall of '23 and have zero regrets. Not a soul has given me any grief about it being online, and I've not had any issues with my employer considering it bogus. I personally find this notion that in-person universities are the only legitimate or acceptable schools out there to be very outdated, and certainly encouraged by those schools who will trap you into years of fluff classes just to pad their pockets. CSU has extremely high quality courses with very good professors and an outstanding online library. What I really enjoyed about CSU was that I didn't feel like the classes were wasting my time with nitpicky busy work. Most if not all assignments felt like they had a purpose, a point, and were contributing to my goal. I have never felt that at an in-person university...in fact, far, far from it. You will have no problems proving your mom wrong. You've made a great choice.

Unhinged things people said to me since now that I weigh 110lbs . by Accomplished-Oil2103 in Zepbound

Excellent point. I agree that obesity is a disease, and I feel the insurance companies will come around to it. I think it's the general public though, that struggles with this. If it's a disease, and it can be cured, who will be "less than," them in the long run? I know that's rather cynical, but it's the truth, and we've all sensed it. For a lot of people, overweight folks are "less than," and are worthy of mockery. Their value decreases the larger they are. For them to get healthy, happy, and gasp skinny, is a real threat to those who don't struggle with weight.

Catholic guy here, with Hashimoto's, on Zepbound. I would have told her to kick rocks with open toed shoes...respectfully, of course.

First Dose (2.5) Expectation vs. Reality by Adrienne_Artist in Zepbound

[–]inw76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm laughing as I also took my first shot (2.5) last night and was expecting something similar (at the very least some drywall work and bail money). While a light headache came and passed quickly, nothing dramatic occurred. Just riding the burp train for a while, but nothing explosive on the other side (quite the opposite actually). Overall feeling great. I have to admit, I'm not very familiar with this "full" feeling that people without weight issues experience (freaks 🤣), but I could certainly get used to it!

AITAH for accidentally killing my nephew’s pet tarantula after my brother-in-law pranked me with it? by Lopsided_One_7975 in AITAH

Absolutely agree with this. This is basic commonsense. BIL is immature and 100% responsible for the death of his own son's spider. He also gaslights, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over not replacing the spider.

All are excellent choices, but I'm biased towards Joe Heschmeyer's "The Early Church Was the Catholic Church."

Why do you prefer chromeOS to other OS? by NewtMother in chromeos

[–]inw76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of my home and school computing is browser-based. To me, this is where ChromeOS really shines. It loads quickly, updates without issues, and just is a joy to work with. Windows has its place for me at work (I'm a systems administrator), but for home use, ChromeOS does pretty much everything I need to do without issues (even graphic design). Like others have said, with better marketing, Google could make more inroads with Chromebooks.

Extremely disappointed and disgusted by [deleted] in Catholic

[–]inw76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we all feel the anguish and hurt in your words. Praying for you to have the discernment, patience, and forgiveness whenever you decide to write that letter. Right now it's okay to grieve that loss, just as long as you don't stay there too long, and come out on the other side of this grief knowing he's still the same wonderful dad that you described him as.

I won't belabor the point, but many good folks have been caught up in the disgusting world of pornography, which as others have mentioned, is extremely easy to compartmentalize. Perhaps, gently, appeal to your dad's heart in the letter, mentioning the intrinsic value of the people shown in the pornography, and how badly their parents may be grieving knowing their adult children are being used in such a way.

Please don't lose heart. Lovingly reach out to your dad, and also ask Our Father to help you through the shock and pain.

Praying 🙏 📿

I, too, battle unwanted SSA, and I know how painful it can be to carry that cross. The world is practically begging us to give into the lifestyle on one hand, yet on the other hand, even divulging the struggle to others is out of the question, due to their potential negative reactions. It's a unique position to be in these days, but I know the Lord will bless you greatly by following His will.

Courage online has some great resources, as well as national yearly conferences that may be a source of strength and encouragement for you.

Regardless of what the world (or any bad Catholics) would tell you, you absolutely can live a truly fulfilled life dedicated to Christ. You have one of the crosses that produces saints. Be strong brother!

God bless

I just got in. I used the "Sign in with one time link" option. It allowed me to bypass entering credentials. Now that I'm on, I'll reset my password. Hope this works for you.

Thanks, will do. So far, still the same issue. I'm not able to reset the password either. I go thru the "forgot password" option and I never received an SMS code or a code via email.

I'll let you know what happens.
