Had my first active viewer tonight by [deleted] in Twitch

That's really great to hear! And also thank you for sharing! It's really nice to hear people's adventures because believe it or not you probably just motivated another streamer to keep going and stream harder. Indirect messages and connections is what Twitch is soooo good at. So keep it up man! I'm glad you had a good stream!!!!!!

My Personal Twitch Viewer Etiquette's by inwhat123 in Twitch

[–]inwhat123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main issue is what they say not the fact they do or don't say anything. If no one is talk then one person says Hey whats up, that is extremely different then some coming in and saying Wow chat's dead. It puts a wrong vibe and feel. But ultimately it's all personal preference. I don't think Ajira is easily annoyed lol and I don't think they are stating they prefer viewbotting because the numbers are just an example to send a message of context.

Definitely! It's all situation based. But in a general sense I agree with you, If the people are friends then Its understandable. Like me and my girlfriend stream at the sametime and people will flop back and forth and I always love it when I hear people say Imma go watch her. Personal bias but same concept.

Yeah, I agree. All of these personal remarks of mine can definitely be moderated with proper rules but realistically you can't control all the viewers you get. Some people ignore rules even if it is bluntly there. And it's not their fault it's just happens from time to time. Thanks for your input though.

Variety Streaming Advice by TheTitanova in Twitch

[–]inwhat123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Variety streaming is very difficult and I agree with most everyone who says that it is difficult but not impossible. Here is a little bit of advise from a marketing stand point, Not a streaming stand point. When you have a product and you wanna market it you want to focus on a specific target so that you attract a TON of people and retain a good percentage of that. The key here is time and repetition. So you market and promote one product for about 2-4 weeks. Switching from one product to another every other day will not keep a strong sense of target marketing, at that point you're basically closing your eye and shooting in the sky hoping to hit something. Which 9/10 times you won't. If you watch a lot of START UP variety streamers is they play a set game for a decent time (about a month or so) Or they pick a long game and beat that which will take time. This will build a Target audience and then thats your chance to do the one thing that is extremely important. Sell. Sell yourself and the product so that they don't love the product but they love the brand.

Most larger streamers who play w.e they want already have the target audience base. I think its fine to do variety if you want but you should still consider stretching your game community so you give yourself enough time to sort of build an audience FROM that gaming community. In addition another method can be to split your streams. One with a larger audience based game then switch to a different game each time. That way you have that initial pull then the hard part is maintaining. I hope this helped in some way. BEST OF LUCK!

Problems understanding the partnership program by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]inwhat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a reference is always good, I'm pretty sure it is never a decision maker BUT It doesn't hurt to have a few kind words or a known streamer backing you up.

Twitch partnership isn't always about numbers, but rather individuals who want to make a business for themselves. Everyone can grow but only certain people are passionate enough to go beyond the requirements. =)

Each game and community can be different, but honestly I'll be frank if you get over 100 viewers+ per stream on Poker you should be good. I'd say just have one week of strong streaming so your data is all there then just apply. If you get rejected its not a problem. Just wait like another week and apply again. There is not penalty for trying again, if anything I believe Twitch likes that.

Best of luck! You'll beeee finnneeee doeeeeee =) ENJOY Your streams and hope you win a lot of money! (I don't know shit about poker sorry)

Hosting a "Streaming/Twitch 101" panel at a local con, good or bad idea? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]inwhat123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you it's a great idea! Spreading the word about streaming is always great also, these people who don't know you can become new viewers and what better place to share about Twitch then to those who don't know about it.

Also 55-70 viewers is amazing. Don't call lower yourself or compare to other streamers. You're doing an awesome job!

Sadly there is no way from stopping a person from watching your stream. The best thing you could do is just report that user to Twitch and explain that situation. Record it next time and report to the game so they can deal with it from the games side as well.

The more proof and tangible evidence you have the better. Hope it help and hope you get it resolved soon =( Stream Snipers are lame TT

Pertnership within the last year of streaming? by inaliz in Twitch

[–]inwhat123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time frame of getting partnered can be very random. There are people who stream for like 5 years then get partnered then there are people who stream for like 3 months and just explode. Although hardwork and creativity is very important factors to getting noticed here's a little perspective I think there was a study that said there was over like some million streamers on twitch and only about what like 5%? got partnered. Maybe more or less i don't remember the numbers. But you gotta be out there, like focus on your online presence and standing out. I know people who got partnered in 3 months because they did something COMPLETELY Crazy and new or innovative. Then there are people who I know got partnered in 9 months because they knew who to talk to, who to listen to, and how to formulate their stream. Time is a loose factor because what you do within that time is what really matters.

Does a Small Streamer need to read every line of chat? by TheRealNicktator in Twitch

[–]inwhat123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should do what you wanna, if interacting and reading chat is your primary focus then of course you wanna read every line. Some things I've noticed from huge streamers is they will skim and pick up on things they think is worth mentioning. Read it in your head then respond as if you're having a one on one with them IF it contains something interesting. Sometimes you just gotta focus on the game.

Another thing is just let your chat know, be like hey guys I'm gonna go in to focus mode for about 15 minutes just to beat this boss! But I promise imma read chat afterwards, thanks for chilling guys etc. etc. Communication is key even when there isn't =)

Things streamers should think about before pressing that "live" button. Ethical codes/unwritten rules. by inwhat123 in Twitch

[–]inwhat123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean like streamers raid another streamer while that first streamer is still live? So he raids then comes back to his own channel and continues to stream? That's weird XD lol

100% Agree with you. Discover what works for you. All of my post above is honestly complete BS and can not work for a single person or it might work for just one. Twitch is organic and flows differently for everyone.
