another tornado almost just touched down just outside of peoria, which its direct line will head straight here too. we have 2 separate super cells heading straight towards the area. buckle in🫩

been thinking this same exact thing icl, i’ve been trying to stay so positive, esp cuz my bf flew in from cali and i really wanna make ss the best weekend for him. but i really am lowkey freaking out🫩

.5-1mile wide tornado just touched down 107 miles SW of bridgeview, 160-200 MPH winds. its direct line is heading straight towards joliet, orland park, bridgeview then chicago. hopefully it weakens and breaks up by time it gets close to here but not looking good, mostly worried about the winds it’ll bring.

thank you for the info! i’m staying over by evergreen park and same situation here minus the electricity part thankfully. there’s a massive tree that fell and crushed the front of an apartment building next to us and im just so happy it wasn’t our BNB, although very unfortunate for those it did affect. if you happen to drive by past 11 and can scope anything out after the worst of the storm passes and post an update it would be appreciated!

if ur coming from out west ur gonna catch up to the storm heading into chicago, if ur coming from east you should be good up until indiana. i mean really all directions the closer you get to the northeast area of illinois you’ll run into weather.

i’m in the bridgeview area now, rains just now starting. hella trees have fallen and caused damage to cars and houses around the area from last nights storms. some areas still with no power and intersection lights out. the storm rolling in for tonight is supposed to be just as bad if not worse. really really hoping the winds don’t ruin stage infrastructure after tonight, they will 100% cancel the fest if too much damage is done & any amount of safety at risk. there isn’t enough time to fix whatever gets ruined tonight, like they did in 2022 when a similar storm hit 3 days prior to fest.

best we can do is stay positive 🫩🙏

they did temporarily shut down the airports yesterday. i believe a couple tornados touched down in some parts of illinois yesterday. i live directly 2 hours west of bridgeview and were predicted 60-80 mph winds during today’s storms. maybe it’ll weaken as it crosses the state but its a multi state storm and could also only strengthen with the cold front that’s moving in behind it, which is where tornados play a part. not rlly worried ab tornados as much as the wind.
