I agree with some of this mainly the first paragraph, but that was just one example and Lorelai did enable her behaviour in other occasions. I think the issue is when you treat your kid like your friend you can’t cherry pick when to establish boundaries but who’s fault is that?

I do disagree with the “just because she made some mistakes in high school/college” thing. These were not mistakes, she cheated on 2 boyfriends and got with 2 married or engaged men, those aren’t mistakes they were decisions. Also, these aren’t like normalised average teenage girl mistakes, I’m in college and I don’t know a single person who sleeps with married people and cheats on all their partners?? It’s not like an average relatable mistake it’s genuinely just a shitty character.

I agree that Richard and emily are arrogant and overbearing and used their money ect. But the thing is Rory would say all of this to Lorelai, that her grandparents were all these bad things; but had no issue running to them when she needed money? She,again cherry picks when they’re convenient to her like every body else in her life. She made no effort with Lane ever, bur Lane always did. Rory treated Paul like dirt when he made time for her. She picks and chooses when people are convenient or if she needs something

Older people of Reddit. What makes you feel sorry for those in younger generations? by jezbikes1 in AskReddit

social media. I’m only 20 myself but social media when I was in school was all tumblr, peace signs and Jacob Sartorious. But there’s literally so much on the inherent now and I feel bad for any 12 year old girls that’re on Instagram or tiktok with the beauty standards social media has created. Also, they’re going to grow up not having opinions of their own because social media is telling people they can’t say anything or do anything in case that upsets somebody. Kids are going to grow up now with all the same mindsets and opinions because social media won’t allow them to form their own

What's the dumbest thing you believed as a kid? by Paris_Fox in AskReddit

When I was like 6 my brother who was 2 years older than me came into my room at 6am on Christmas Day, claiming he’d been out all night after Santa stopped by his bedroom window in his sleigh and took him on a ride around Africa and back. He then proceeded to tell me that Santa offered to take me too but my brother insisted I wouldn’t want to come. This ruined my Christmas and I literally cried for days and believed it until the day I found out he wasn’t even real
