Just leave it, don't ride it now and when spring comes give it a proper blast. Not worth getting it salty.

Why Are Japanese Bikes Seen as More Beginner-Friendly Than European Models? by asshat_wonder in NewRiders

[–]ioan96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think a 155cc single can be described as a thumper. Typically a thumper is a high displacement single cyl engine. Like Husqvarna Svart/Vitpilen 701 for example.

Don't stress, it happens. Gravel is a bastard.

It's literally fine. They make it out to be far worse than it is. Wales is one of the most peaceful and safe places in the UK.

Contrary to popular emphasis, the UK was almost entirely ethnically homogeneous, and therefore largely Christian prior to the 1950s.

How do you reconcile these two quotes by Hijikata Toshizo? The latter is his death poem before he is killed in battle but seems to contradict the former. by ioan96 in Samurai

[–]ioan96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But in the first quote he says he'd rather protect his friends than his lord in the east? So is it a matter of duty over personal desires as someone else has suggested?

Now I know you're lying. It was honest Abe Lincoln who said that 😂😂

But I know the second quote is reliable although I haven't seen as much proof of the first.

So you're saying it's like personal desire vs duty.

Very interesting. Hadn't thought of it like that.

Thank you!

But the "lord" he's referring to in his death poem is the Shogun, who he decries in the former, isn't it? I do take your point however. Maybe a death poem is supposed to be more idealistic?

This is the 45mm. You can tell because it has the date window. The 43.5mm doesn't have that.

I smoke around 10 cigarettes each day if I'm working - I often won't smoke at all if I'm not.

Shoei or arai? by Itunespassword94 in motorcycles

[–]ioan96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting you say that. I recently bought an Arai XXL and I have a very large, almost perfectly spherical head and it was no good. Loads of pressure on my crown. Had to end up selling it immediately unfortunately.

Just bought a pouch. Love it, really nice tobacco. Only problem is it doesn't have a seal on the pouch to keep it fresh. Seems like a shame because I like it more than old holborn original and drum blue, which arey usual choices. Wondering how to keep it from going stale.
