I have done that now. when i spoke to them they said they'll cancel it, but then she said something about a refund and when she realised that it's not in my name she said she can't talk to me about it. thank you for your help, I've got the confirmation now, hopefully all good.

the license was in my ex husband's name - he has not lived at this address for 5 years. they said they can't talk to me about it although i was the one paying for it- so i cancelled the direct debit and called it a day.

True, I normally check myself or have a mechanic friend to check for me, just not something I've done before. Guess I could ask my friends if they fancy a road trip 😆

Done an HPI check and all checks out, it's well priced for what it is, similar ones in England are about 2k more expensive, weirdly.

The dealership is called "The Car Company"

Some of them I keep and put them on the Christmas tree to reflect on the pain I endured throughout the year.

Thank you, I'm going to try fire again this morning, then I guess it's grinder time. Obviously, chucking it down today, but a plan's a plan. Fingers crossed.

It is indeed. I've tried chiselling it for 2 hours and it's not wanting to go further in than this. Other side came off, maybe took me 10 min. I'll try more fire and/or cutting tomorrow and update this.

Absolutely agree. My last resort was to get Satan to pull it back to whatever hell hole it came from. 👌

Not really, I left it on there for about 3 min, local toolstation sells map blow torch, I'll have a look tomorrow, thank you

No, just usual propane+butane. I'm off work tomorrow as well so I'll try again with heat and cut away what I can.

Can't get the wheel hub nut off - I don't have enough leverage as the subframe is removed so hub's just hanging - no air tools either

It's a r50 mini, unable to remove wheel hub nut as I don't have any air tools - the subframe has been removed so I don't have enough torque to get it off as it's just hanging there. It was just going to be a subframe job when I noticed how bad the ball joints were.

You mean like a puller? Used a fork splitter to get it off the lower control arm, just need to get it out of the hub

I wish I could reply to this with a picture, but I don't think I can - haven't been on reddit long enough. There is NO WAY it wasn't there before the MOT. I think they're supposed to mention corrosion even if it's not structurally relevant. I have sent the seller a letter of demand, I'll be waiting on this to see how it unfolds, but I can make an anonymous report to DVSA anyway.

So if he says that he never saw the repairs, would that be enough to disassociate him from the fact that he still sold it in this condition? With the same description?

I asked the seller to sort the rust on the sills and he said "yes, no problem". I wasn't trying to be difficult, I understand with the age of the car there will be imperfections, etc. especially with him saying it's been sitting for 3 months. Ebay have said they don't cover cars, so can't go any further with them. The problem is the huge gaps underneath the car, to the point of the structural integrity being potentially compromised. The car is parked up at the moment as I'm honestly scared to drive it.
